Film App Festival is an event reimagined for the tech savvy, modern audience. Screening at the historic 1200 seat Hemmens Theater in Elgin Illinois, each ticket holder can also watch & share in Film App for tablets and phones.

Every screened Feature Film is available in Film App. So when your audience watches your film in iPhone, iPad or Android long after Film App Festival is over, the filmmaker is paid. And whether the audience attends or has Film App membership, your Indie Film continues living long beyond this festival.

Revenue Share in Film App

By submitting to Film App Festival (FAF) you acknowledge that you have read and understood the official rules & regulations listed below.

Film App Festival (FAF) does not require premiere status for submission. The Film may have been previously distributed over the Internet, broadcast television, screened at any film festival, or released on DVD.

FAF accepts the following types of entries:
Feature Film (40 - 120 minutes inclusive of title & credits)
South African Feature (40 - 120 minutes)
Webisode (All episodes or at least 60 total minutes)
Short Film (2 - 39 minutes inclusive of title & credits)
Music Video ( 2 - 8 minutes)

Submission entries will not be returned.

Foreign language films must be made available with English subtitles.

A separate entry fee is required for each submission.

A non-refundable processing fee is required for all film entries, including student work.

No fee waivers will be permitted.

FAF does not provide travel, room, or board for filmmakers.

Release

By participating in FAF, I certify that I/we are the sole owner(s) of the work described above, and that I have obtained all necessary releases and clearances necessary for public screening. By submitting this entry, I agree that FAF may publicly screen the work as part of FAF, and may broadcast or screen clips of a maximum of three minutes on the Film App Festival website (http://onlinefilmapp.com), social media, or among media partners.

Limitation of Liability

By submitting to FAF entrants hereby release and discharge FAF and its respective affiliates, representatives, independent contractors, officers, employees and directors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, costs, damages and expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to their participation in this Festival, the use by FAF of any films submitted by entrants and/or any actions or decisions of FAF in connection with the conduct and administration of this Festival. Entrants hereby waive any right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in connection with any claim against FAF, any Co-Sponsors, any respective affiliates, representatives, independent contractors, officers, employees and directors.

It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to secure clearance from the copyright holders of any copyrighted materials included within the submitted Film. The Organizers will not be held responsible for the unauthorized inclusion of any copyrighted materials within or relating to the submitted Film. The Organizers reserve the right to disqualify, without refund of any or all submission fees previously collected from the Applicant, any Film with any unauthorized inclusion of any copyrighted materials.

It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that film for screening is available to festival organizers at least 10 days before scheduled screening. Festival selections are to be submitted in any region type, encoded as PAL or NTSC, DVD or Blu-Ray Disc. 2 tested Discs must be submitted for each film selected for screening. All webisodes should be made available to festival organizers by screening time, on as many Discs as required.

Publicity

FAF reserves the right to use extracts from submissions for festival publicity and marketing purposes. Press kits, though not required, help market and promote submitted work. Press Kits may be mailed to Film App Festival at 528 N Lyle, Elgin, IL 60123.

FAF reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the film screening(s), in whole or in part, at any time without notice. FAF or its partners, sponsors and affiliates are not liable for any failure to screen films if said failure is due to circumstances beyond the control of parties involved.

Final programming, categorization and slotting of films will be determined by the programming team. This decision is final. Successful entries will receive this information in an official paper printed invitation.

A digital synopsis, digital 300dpi poster image (24” x 36” if available), and copy of film once screening selection has been finalized will be requested.

Revenue Share

Film App has been created to archive and distribute submitted work on tablet and phone for technologically savvy audiences. Screened Films will be distributed through Film App to ticket holders or subscribers of Film App at the end of each FAF. Screened Feature Films or webisodes are eligible for revenue share at a rate of $0.50 USD per a minimum of 5 minutes of total unique viewer of each film or total webisode for up to 3 months 24 hours after FAF Screening date. Feature Films or webisodes which have not been selected for screening will be available for revenue share 2 weeks after the FAF in Film App for a period of 10 weeks.

Short Film and Music Video, while available in Film App upon consent of Filmmaker, are not available for revenue share.
