Sweeping Plains Screenplay Awards celebrates original scripts with strong stories, memorable characters and a clear creative voice.
We welcome feature scripts, short scripts and micro shorts across all genres.

Our focus is simple: great writing.

To keep submissions easy, writers can enter into simple length-based categories. As the awards grow, additional categories may be created at our discretion to best reflect the scripts received and recognise the strengths of each submission.

We are building this with our writers and audience in mind, and we will continue to grow, adapt and refine the awards as the community grows with us.

We are looking for scripts with heart, originality, impact and screen potential. Selected writers receive official recognition, festival laurels and the opportunity to be celebrated through the Sweeping Plains platform.
