Receiving the Best Microfilm Award from The World International Movie Awards for The Negro Mother is a tremendous honor and a meaningful affirmation of the film's artistic vision. As a microfilm, this work sought to demonstrate how powerful storytelling can emerge through brevity, symbolism, movement, and emotional depth.

The Negro Mother explores themes of Black motherhood, ancestral memory, resilience, and identity through a cinematic language that invites reflection and connection. To have this work recognized on an international platform is especially rewarding because it confirms that stories grounded in specific cultural experiences can resonate across diverse audiences and geographic boundaries.

I am deeply grateful to The World International Movie Awards for this recognition and to the entire creative team whose dedication, artistry, and belief in the project made this achievement possible. This award celebrates not only the film itself, but also the enduring strength, wisdom, and legacy of the women whose stories inspired its creation.

Winning at the World International Movie Awards is an important milestone for my film and for my work as an independent director.
This festival recognizes projects that stand out for originality, personal vision and the courage to create outside traditional industry structures.
Receiving this award means that our DIY approach, our amateur cast and the human, spontaneous tone of the film have reached an international jury and found their place.
I’m proud of this result and grateful to everyone who believed in the project from the beginning.
This recognition gives new energy to continue developing my next film with even more ambition.
