Welcome to the Toronto International Short Film Awards! We are dedicated to discovering, promoting, and showcasing a diverse array of Canadian and international short films.

We are devoted to indie shorts and artists working on a variety of genres in both fiction and documentary. We appreciate the craft of short filmmaking and highlight the significance of independent cinema and arthouse filmmaking. We aim to spotlight the creativity in short films, elevating the medium within the cinematic landscape.

Our main objective is to provide a platform for talented filmmakers to showcase their work and gain deserved recognition. Short films frequently act as a foundation for new filmmakers to explore and refine their talents. We support these artists to aid in their growth.

We aim to elevate the art of short filmmaking by highlighting a wide range of diverse indie voices and stories. Our team is made up of filmmakers, critics, agents, and distributors from Toronto's film industry. We welcome directors, producers, writers, and cinematographers to participate as jury members in different sections of the competition. Our dedicated programming team is enthusiastic about presenting the work of talented short filmmakers at various venues in Toronto during our annual festival.

International and Canadian productions are qualified.
Films must be less than 50 minutes.
Projects must have been completed in the past three years.
The filmmaker certifies to have full rights.
All non-English language films must be subtitled in English.
