Post-Cinema is a nonprofit association dedicated to cinema, art and culture. Founded in Siracusa (Sicily, Italy) in 2023, our goal is to promote the discovery and analysis of world post-cinematography and its protagonists, to hybridize arts like never before.

Within a few months of its inception, we organized a series of successful initiatives, such as Cine Music Fest (screenings accompanied by live musicians, to relive the essence of early silent cinema), Cine Oktober Fest (paying homage to expressionist and avant-garde cinema), and Post-ART (exhibitions and installations dedicated to the marriage of visual arts and cinema in the 21st century).

"Post-Cinema Film Festival" is one of our most ambitious projects yet, focusing on the research of new talents around the globe able to explore the many facets of avant-garde film production.

Since this is our first years and we wanted to give as many authors as possible the opportunity to participate in this project, we decided to offer extremely advantageous entry fees:

- 3$ for students
- 5$ for Short categories
- 10$ for Feature categories

Custom discounts for all GOLD Members.

Feel free to participate and be part of this new global cinematic experiment.

Winners will be free to travel to Siracusa, Italy (travel and accommodation at their own expense) to attend the evening dedicated to their category—more info on request.

Three special prizes will be awarded:

- The Post-Cinema Award, given to the most innovative and experimental work.
- The Audience Award, given to the film with the most votes during screening.
- The Jury Award, given to the director who has distinguished the most in its field.

*If the number of selected works is less in each category, the works entered up to that time will be considered for awards.

We are always looking for an innovative use of cinematic language, but any traditional approach is welcome. One of our goals is to push the boundaries of what cinema can and will be through the imagination of each auteur who submits their work. Each selected work can win multiple awards in its categories. We accept any genre in any category available. Any film with dialogue in any language must have English subtitles. Silent films are gladly welcome. All films presented in each category must respect the length limits. E.g. if a short film under 60 minutes is presented in the feature film category, it will not be considered. Content that does not meet the eligibility requirements will not be selected.

In light of recent natural disaster in Sicily -- a devastating cyclone -- I am humbled to learn news from the wonderful Post-Cinema Film Festival that my 2025 video poem on the Katyń tragedy received an honorable mention. My poem, which uses the literary device of personification to humanize "murdered" and abandoned bouquets of flowers, was inspired by the memorial sculpture of a mortally wounded Polish soldier, which is located close to the river pier in my neighborhood and which never ceases to make me stop in my tracks and cry.

Tonight, my soul weeps as I reflect on the recent, massive destruction of homes and major disruption of lives in Sicily due to the cyclone and its power to create tsunami-like waves from a previous tranquil sea. Interestingly, on the spring evening that I filmed the tragic Katyń memorial, the winds by the Hudson River were strong and thus had ripped many of the beautiful red and white floral bouquets from the base of the sculpture. The gale force also had flung single flowers far onto the concrete plaza as if they were children newly orphaned by war.

My gratitude runneth over to the organizers of the Post-Cinema Film Festival, who are deeply grieving their loss collectively and individually. That they took the time to view my video poem at all, given the extent of the cyclone's vast destruction in their magnificent country, touches my heart. Thank you.
