Palm Springs Diversity Screenplay Awards
WHERE NEW VOICES GET SEEN AND HEARD

Screenplays. TV Pilots. Pitch Decks. Sizzle Reels. Trailers.

There are stories the industry hasn’t heard yet.

Not because they don’t exist.
Because they haven’t been given real access.

THIS IS BUILT FOR WRITERS WHO BRING SOMETHING DIFFERENT

We are actively seeking writers and creators from underrepresented and diverse backgrounds, including:

• Ethnic and cultural diversity
• LGBTQIA+ voices
• Writers with disabilities
• Religious and international perspectives
• Writers 50+ with lived experience
• Any creator whose voice reflects a perspective not commonly seen on screen

This is not about checking boxes.

It’s about finding powerful voices—and helping them break through.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

Every submission receives professional analysis from working Hollywood filmmakers.

No interns.
No generic coverage.

Real notes from professionals who understand:

• Story
• Market
• How projects actually move forward

WHY THIS MATTERS

The industry is actively searching for new voices.

But most writers never get the right feedback or the right visibility.

That’s the gap this competition is designed to close.

WHAT YOU GET

Screenplays
• 6–10 pages of professional written analysis
• Clear development notes and rewrite direction
• Market positioning and viability assessment

Pitch Decks, Sizzle Reels, Trailers
• Professional evaluation of concept and execution
• Strategic positioning feedback
• Development notes from working industry professionals

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Select winners and finalists receive more than recognition.

They receive forward movement.

• Consideration for exposure to managers and producers
• Industry-facing positioning opportunities
• Promotional placement across our platforms

THE GOAL

Not just to recognize diverse voices.

To help them get heard.

Sure, it was great to see “Yeti or Not” recognized. Still, the screenplay consultation was the real prize. Bob is remarkably generous with his insights, ideas and enthusiasm — for your script and the craft of screenwriting in general. The critique is firm, yet fair. Meant not to tear down, but to build upon the good stuff, be it a character, a story arc, as well as your effort.

I am deeply honored to have my work recognized as the winner for Best TV Script. From start to finish, my experience with this contest has been stellar. The coverage I received was exceptionally nuanced and thoughtful, offering the kind of professional insight that is often hard to find. It is clear that the organizers and judges truly care about the craft of screenwriting. Thank you for this honor and for providing such a valuable platform for writers.

I'm beyond honored to have won Best Screenplay in the Palm Springs Diversity Screenplay Contest. Knowing that the judges connected with my script and saw my vision is incredibly rewarding. The contest was also easy to enter, the team was communicative, and I had the great opportunity to have a live consultation with long-time producer and celebrated screenwriter Bob McCullough as part of my prize. His guidance and feedback were absolutely invaluable and I came away feeling even more inspired to bring my script to life.

Two of my scripts made it to the Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals, respectively. Best notes ever. Humans actually read your script and not AI-generated notes. Kudos to the Palm Springs Diversity contest.
