Onward!! Join us during this decadal survey of sci-fi excellence.
It is a celebration of old and new. As one of the oldest science fiction festivals, we will present you with a selection of insights and stories never seen. There is plenty of planning and work to do. We are open to participants planetwide to join us in the beautiful city of Miami, Florida.

The intent of MiSciFi is to showcase the best in Science Fiction, Fantasy, Comedy, and other imaginatively-themed films from around the world. This celebration is in the trendy and progressively global megalopolis of Miami, Florida. Our creative and inspirational environment is ideal for exploring films that ponder the infinite possibilities our multiverse holds.

There will be workshops, panels, and lectures. In addition to this twelfth season, the Film Market will be available. We have invited distributors to connect with filmmakers.

Notifications require submitters to have a reachable email or phone contact as you are contacted more than once during the festival season. So grab tickets early, inform your friends, and prepare for the best original content to reach South Florida.

Content submitted to the Miami Intl Sci-Fi Festival will be promoted on our website, in printed materials (such as the festival program), and in our press and marketing activity (this can include presenting films that we have selected to the press). The filmmaker gives MiSciFi the right to use the name of the film, and the images submitted for the uses listed. We also inquire if the filmmaker wants to screen their film at tours or similar activities; as we often get asked to provide guest spots at other festivals and events.

Once a film is officially accepted to the festival, the filmmaker can no longer withdraw it from the festival lineup. The filmmaker is also responsible for submitting the screening materials at least four weeks before the festival. If the screening will be a world premiere, please let us know as we will do our best to promote to the local community, and please keep us abreast of your production and marketing activities!

Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt (about 2 minutes or less) from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival or its assignees, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival is a fantastic festival dedicated specifically to Science Fiction which is so cool. They create opportunities for filmmakers to interact directly with executives, managers, production companies, etc. The team is so dedicated and friendly - I would love to attend again in the future! Thanks for giving some love to WordLotto for Best Comedy.

This ‘festival’ programmed my film. But when I showed up to the screening, there was nobody there and no signs. I contacted the festival and they said there had been ‘a delay.’ I asked them to update me as to when the screening would start. They did not. Instead, they contacted me later to tell me that my film was playing out of sync. This problem was on their end, as I had just watched the same file at Gasparilla Film Festival with no problems. Total amateurs, avoid at all costs.

    Response from festival:

We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate issue that occurred with the screening of your film. Despite having been provided with three copies of your film, it was the corrupted file that was inadvertently played during its scheduled premiere. We made efforts to rectify this situation by attempting to communicate with you, especially since your film was slated as the opening program. We wanted to inform you that there would be a re-screening opportunity on Sunday.

Unfortunately, we did not receive a response from you regarding the re-screening communication. We proceeded with the Sunday screening as part of our opening session, and I am pleased to report that your film was very well received by the audience.

Thank you for your participation in our event. We truly regret the mishap with the initial screening. Your film was a worthy nominee and deserved the celebration it received during the subsequent showing.
