    I did not attend, so I cannot speak to the quality of the actual event. But I can say that the communication, info, and website are all quite poor. Our film was selected, but not screened, and they couldn't even tell us that soon enough to make arrangements for travel. If they don't have time to screen all the films, I dunno.... maybe just accept films you have time to screen? It makes no sense to tell someone they are an official selection only to not screen. What's the point? Very stupid, will never submit another film again.

    Response from festival:

    "official selection" All Official selections receive a $50 Gift Card from GearBox Rentals when attending, The value is greater than the price of a submission.

    The best film receives the top prize, all selected films receive 2 free Tix to the festival, As well as nominations for awards.

    The top 25 scores are selected, out of 800+ submissions, we cannot screen all selected films due to the durations of some of the films as we schedule 2 full blocks of 45 mins.

    The date of the festival was announced more than a month in advance and our location has been Vancouver for the past 8 years... The next season location and date have already been posted more than a year in advance.

    Our apologies if you do not like our format or prizes, simply request a refund from Film Freeway, they always refund patrons. best regards.
