The Cut Short Film Competition is launching for the first time in 2022, proudly presented by Sutherland Shire Council.

Cut Short aims to provide a platform for the creative development of local and emerging filmmakers as well as support the arts industry in Sydney and beyond. Showcasing the wonder of the Sutherland Shire we encourage filmmakers to explore all that this area has to offer, from the pristine beaches of Cronulla, to the hidden corners of the Royal National Park, to the many heritage-listed sites and culturally significant places rich with history. Discover the diverse range of people and places that spread through the Sutherland Shire and what stories could be told.

From documentaries to science-fiction we welcome all kinds of films and are excited to see the stories you tell.

Get creative with this year’s theme ‘Connected to Nature’.
