SINTESY

BE VERTICAL ONLINE VIDEO CONTEST is an online competition dedicated to the production of Vertical Videos (9:16 format), typical of shooting with a smartphone. Using vertical framing is a common mode of expression in today's society. Shooting a video with a smartphone is a custom that has become part of the rituals of daily life and has taken on a primary role in social communication, especially among the younger generations.
Currently, the new mobile phonesmaking us connected with the whole world and thanks to the digital shooting function give the possibility to express oneself with images.
This first BE VERTICAL ONLINE VIDEO CONTESThas as its theme THEPROTECTION OF THE PLANET FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND CLIMATE EMERGENCY to a more environmentally friendly lifestyle that guarantees the future for the next generations on planet earth.

The online competition is intended for 3 groups of authors divided by age:
Children aged 10 – 13
Teenagers aged 14 - 17
Young Authors 18 - 25 years.

BE VERTICAL, opens the registration and the uploading of the videos from May 11, 2022 until June 20, 2022 on FilmFreeway.com Platform
The maximum duration limit of each video is set at 10 minutes (excluding any credits).
The shooting modes and horizontal and vertical resolution must be as follows:
HD 1080 x 1920 - UHD 2160 x 3840 - 4K 2160 x 4096
The file must be H264 encoded and the container format must be MP4.
Each participant can present a maximum of n. 3 videos, possibly with English subtitles

In the case of minors, the registration must be made by the parents or legal guardian of the minor,

The management reserves the right to bring forward or postpone the deadline.
BE VERTICAL will take place online…
and the awards ceremony will take place in Rimini (Italy) on July 17, 2022

REGULATION

1. ORGANIZERS
BE VERTICAL is organized by Acli Arte e Spettacolo aps Sede Provinciale di Rimini Association, in collaboration with Cartoon Club, Festival of Animation Cinema, Comics and Games (Rimini – Italy).

2. OBJECTIVES
BE VERTICAL is dedicated to video productions in vertical format (9:16), created by Kids, Teenagers and Young Authors.
BE VERTICAL wants to promote their artistic trends and support the knowledge and dissemination of videos/short films characterized by the stylistic and formal originality of the vertical format.

3. THE 2022 THEME
The Contest has as its theme for the year 2022, respect for the environment in order to safeguard our planet, to stop climate emergency and in favor of a more environmentally friendly lifestyle that guarantees the future for the next generations on planet Earth.
The festival has two purposes: to support the objectives set by the 2030 Agenda and to promote the creativity of the new generations thanks to the tool they are most familiar with: the smartphone.

4. PARTICIPANTS
The participation is FREE and open to all young people aged 8 to 25, from any country. Authors can participate divided into 3 categories based on age.
• 8 - 13 years
• 14-17 years
• 18 - 25 years

5. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ADMITTED VIDEOS
The maximum duration limit of each video is set at 10 minutes (excluding any credits).
Videos with a duration longer than that indicated will be automatically excluded from the competition.
Videos with content that does not correspond to the theme of the competition will be deleted.
The jury reserves the right to exclude, at its sole discretion, any work containing content that it deems offensive or with contents of a violent, pornographic or racist nature.
All videos must have a common free or original soundtrack, using soundtracks and copyrighted music will be eliminated from the competition.

6. EVALUATION OF THE VIDEO IN COMPETITION
The evaluation phases of the videos in competition will take place with the following criteria:
• From 5 May to 20 June 2022 all the videos for the selection of the Contest Jury.
• The authors of the works will be able to share them on social networks in order to promote and sponsor their work in the competition.
• Registrations will no longer be accepted from 21 June 21,2022.

7. FESTIVAL JURY AND JUDGMENTS
The 2022 jury will be composed of the influencers LASABRY and PIKA and the video-cinematographic experts Paolo Pagliarani and the director of the Cartoon Club Festival Sabrina Zanetti.
The jury evaluates the works according to the criteria of originality of the contents, of the technical quality of the videos and of consistency with the theme of safeguarding the planet and eco-compatible lifestyles.
There will be differet types of judgments:
• The Jury will make the nominations for the finalists.
• For each category, only one work per author will be admitted to the nomination.
• The ranking of the winners will be announced during the Award Evening on July 15, 2022 in Rimini (Italy).
• Works with violent, racist, pornographic content will be excluded, under penalty of exclusion.
The jury reserves the right to exclude, at its sole discretion, any work containing content that it deems offensive or objectionable.

8. THE PUBLIC JURY
The jury of experts is joined by that of the public, who will use the thumbs up on the website

The preferences of the public can be expressed from May 20 to July 14, 2022.

• Award for theBest Video in the Category 18 - 25 Years
• Special Jury Prize for theBest Video of the 2022 Edition

AWARDS CEREMONY
The prizes will be awarded during the BE VERTICAL LIVE AWARDS CEREMONY on 17 July, 2022 and will consist of plates, telephone equipment or utility services offered by our sponsors.

10. HOW TO ENROLL THE FESTIVAL FOR MINORS
In the case of minors, the registration must be made by the parents or legal guardian of the minor,

11. VIDEO LIBRARY
Anyone signing the participation form agrees to become part of a common multimedia archive, for the purpose of ordering and storing the works and of a video library that can be consulted online.
Acli Arte e Spettacolo aps sede provinciale di Rimini Association, reserves the right to use every single video in competition for the duration of an entire calendar year for activities and events related to the Contest, a use which is established completely free of charge by the participants.

12.LEGAL, CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LIABILITY
The participants, (registered), in the competition, release the organizers of BE VERTICAL from any legal, civil and criminal liability, for having used in their productions (films in competition): musical, literary and any other nature contents, whose copyrights are not their property, or in any case that are not free. It will therefore be the responsibility of the producers/authors of the videos in competition to ensure in advance that their productions are free from any legal constraint.

13. RIGHTS OF USE AND PRIVACY OF CONTENT
The author and / or the production (in the case of minors, by the parent or legal guardian) declare under their own responsibility that they are in possession of the releases on the image rights of the people present in the videos and exonerate the organizers of any responsibility. BE VERTICAL from any complaint on the rights of Privacy. The work to which the right to privacy will be contested will be automatically excluded from the competition.
The author and / or the production and / or the holder of the rights of each selected work authorize the publication of their data and their videos * on the website https://www.cartoonclubrimini.com/be-vertical-2022-selezione/ and on the social networks of the Association Acli Arte e Spettacolo aps Sede Provinciale di Rimini and authorize their possible dissemination to the press for promotional purposes, according to the law **.

14. JURISDICTION
This regulation is drawn up in Italian and English. In the event of interpretation problems, the Italian version prevails.
The BE VERTICAL Directioncan take decisions relating to issues not covered by these regulations. The Court of Rimini is competent for any possible controversy.
