Our time spent at the 48th American Indian Film Festival 2023, was amazingly; valuable, inspirational and affirming in what we are creating and accomplishing as Indigenous documentary filmmakers! The entire family at AIFF were extremally welcoming & fabulous hosts. We love how the family carries on with this important Film Festival in honor of their Dad (founder). We especially feel grateful in how we were accepted and treated as family everyday & we appreciated it and genuinely felt it! This Film Festival also inspired us to be our own Distributor's of our stories we are guided to at Red Roots Productions Inc. Our work on heavy hitting documentaries (Indian Residential Schools, Child Welfare & Missing & Murdered) is also spiritually guided by the spirit of our ancestors who walk with us to our communities in a good way! Our lens is from a first person Indigenous perspective (No voice over required). From Alyssa and myself and Red Roots Productions Inc. We cannot thank you enough by helping guide us in our growth & in our quest for marketing & distribution knowledge. It was an honor to share our tobacco with you and to screen at the 48th edition of this awesome film festival, keep up the creators & your fathers Legacy work. kinanaskomitten & Miigwetch in my Cree & Ojibway Language from myself, Alyssa and our Red Roots family #tapwe❤️🎥🎬🙌🤘
