Films are really a strong medium to share, yes to share, but what creates a filmmaker is a sense of what to share. Through vantage point we see that entertainment is just the medium to share realm of life with film lovers. If we penetrate the meaning of life sometime we feel that there is no such meaning or purpose to life, yes! Sometime, but we must have to give a great meaning or purpose to life to create it more beautiful for the whole world as a one family, for whole humanity or for our next generation.
GIFFI honours Films of world with a vast array of awards in different categories and genres. Our mission is to discover diverse new voices & to promote the artists’ work through numerous platforms. In each edition, Filmmakers can submit their projects to have them judged by award-winning industry professionals against a high standard of merit and compete with other short filmmakers across the globe.

Rules & Terms:
1. Entry fees Non- Refundable.
2. No Duration Limit*.
3. The Films can be of any language or of any genre. All non-English films must have English subtitles.
4. YouTube, Google Drive & Vimeo links are accepted. Make sure that the links are not password protected and don't delete the upload till the date of award ceremony of GIFFI 2026.
5. The decision of the festival committee and jury members will be considered final.
6. All information of the festival will be given on the Facebook page, or an attempt will be made to contact by email. The festival authorities are not responsible for anyone missing any festival-related news or updates due to not following the Facebook page or not checking their email for a long time.
7. Deadlines apply to all these aspects of the festival—including film submissions, registration for the awards ceremony (Entry Free), and the receipt of awards via courier service (for those unable to attend the ceremony in person). These deadlines are communicated to all participants through the festival's social media pages and via email. The festival authorities shall not be held liable in any way if a participant misses any festival-related information or deadlines due to providing an incorrect email address, failing to check their email regularly, or failing to follow the festival's Facebook page. Once a deadline has passed, no applications or requests of any kind will be accepted.
8. A director or production company may enter more than one category for a film and may submit more than one film, provided a separate Entry Form and separate Entry Fee accompanies each category and film. The entry form must clearly mark the section/category entered for.
9. Selection of Films/Videos for GIFFI will be done by a panel of committee whose decision will be final. However, Festival authorities reserve the right to accept or reject any film that is likely to offend sentiments, feelings or sensibilities of any caste, community, religion and section and is likely to promote racism or ill will in the society and for any circumstances festival committee will not be answerable for such decision to any person(s), or company or organization.
10. Cost of courier charge will cover the submitter or Director or Producer, Prize and certificate will be awarded to the director (s) or producer(s) of the film. For any duties, fees and charges accrued from the transporting of the trophy, will be covered by the recipient, not the Festival organizers.
11. Those who cannot attend the award ceremony and want to receive the trophy, they have to receive the trophy through courier only.
12. Entrant agrees to be bound by all terms of these official festival rules and regulations as established herein. The Global Independent Film Festival of India, 2026 reserves the right to extend the Festival deadline for any unforeseen reasons if needed. Entry constitutes permission to use winner’s names, likeness and voice for future advertising and publicity purposes without any objection and claim.
13. Please fill up the Form properly. The entry will not be accepted without proper filled up the Declaration Portion.
14. Entry forms with incorrect/inadequate/illegible/ambiguous particulars will not be considered. The festival committee reserves the right to accept or refuse any film without assigning any reason whatsoever.
15. Only officially selected films will be intimated by email. No letters of non-acceptance will be sent. All lists will be available on the Facebook page.
16. Official Selection doesn't mean the film is selected for screening. Every year we have 250+ Nominations. So it's quite impossible to screen all nominated films. Jury members select 50-60 films for screening in every year.
17. Entry Forms should be filled in clearly. Press materials i.e. synopsis (60 words), cast, credit, directors filmography etc. can be sent in separate word file format by email.
18. If selected for the festival the entrant must undertake to provide publicity clippings for the use of the festival.
19. Entrants will retain all ownership rights to their films submitted.
