IMDb Film Festival – Connecting Filmmakers with the Industry

Why Join New World?

At New World, we believe in more than just showcasing films — we believe in empowering creators. As an IMDb-recognized festival, our mission is to connect emerging talents with the industry while actively supporting their journey.

Festival Structure and Filmmaker Experience
To provide transparency and excitement to our applicants, here's what you can expect from the New World Film Festival this June:

Event Structure
Our festival is designed as an immersive experience focused on visibility and networking:

Opening Gala: An opening gala featuring a selection of premiere short films and a welcome reception for all attending filmmakers.

Themed Screenings: Films are grouped by genre and theme to ensure they reach the most engaged audience possible. Each block is followed by a moderated Q&A session.

Industry Panels: Dedicated spaces for "The Business of Independent Film," where we discuss optimization, marketing, and distribution.

Awards Ceremony: A closing event where we celebrate the winners in all categories. Filmmakers unable to attend can submit personal videos so the audience can get to know them better. (This is optional)

The Filmmaker Experience
We don't want you to be just a name on the screen. If your film is selected, you'll enjoy:

IMDb Credit Integration: As an IMDb-recognized festival, your participation and awards will be eligible for professional credits on your profile.

Digital Presence: Beyond the physical screening, our marketing team continues the "Marketing That Matters" initiative, featuring your posters and trailers on our social media channels throughout the festival week.

Feedback: We pride ourselves on our communication. Filmmakers receive updates and support from our team.

Venue and Atmosphere
The festival is held in a professional cinematic environment, ensuring high-quality projection and sound. We foster an inclusive and dynamic atmosphere where the independent spirit is celebrated in every corner.

  • I'm glad to have participated in this amazing festival! I'd like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible recognition my film Dojo received at the New World Film Festival. It was an honor to be awarded Best Short Film, Best Actor, and Best Trailer, each of these distinctions means a great deal to me and my team.

This festival stood out for its professionalism, communication, and support of independent filmmakers. From start to finish, the process was smooth and welcoming, and this festival truly values storytelling and cinematic artistry.

My film Dojo is officially a world record holder for “Most Awards Won by a Live Action Fictional Short Film,” and I’m proud to include New World Film Festival among the prestigious festivals that helped make this achievement possible. New World Film Festival stands out for its professionalism, warm communication, and sincere support of independent filmmakers.

Winning at this festival gave Dojo even greater visibility and has further fueled our passion as we continue developing the feature-length version of the story. Thank you for creating a platform that celebrates original voices and cinematic excellence from around the world!

    Response from festival:

Thank you very much, Jon. Your excellent review motivates us to continue providing the highest quality to artists. We want to congratulate you on the world record for "Dojo."

The action scenes are very well executed, and what we liked most was the use of close-ups. Some directors usually overuse close-ups and don't know how to use them well, but this isn't the case. When close-ups appear, they captivate you. The direction, the acting, and the pacing of those close-ups, holding the actors' gaze, are excellent. Congratulations on this great work; you deserve all these world records.

  • Very nice surprise to find out that A DEADLY THREESOME, my film, is one of the winners. Thank you, all the best,
    Rodrig Andrisan

    Response from festival:

Congratulations! You have a great talent for blending drama with comedy, and that's very difficult to achieve, as many directors fail to find the right balance for these two complicated genres to work, but you do it very well. Special mention goes to the scene where you add a replay of a beat. A very risky choice, but one that fits very well. Congratulations!

    Response from festival:

Congratulations on the award, Dennis. You've done an excellent job as a screenwriter on "The Substitute Wife." Your script is winning many international awards, and we're not surprised at all. Everything is masterfully executed. It reminds us of the best film noir of the 1950s. It maintains your interest throughout and makes every move of the characters captivate you. An excellent project that we hope to see on the big screen very soon.
