The Rencontres internationales Paris/Berlin 2024 awards a prize, the MOVING IMAGE ART PRIZE, which includes a 20,000 euro grant awarded by an international jury.

The Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin is a major event in Europe dedicated to contemporary practices of moving image - cinema, video, multimedia. It offers every year in Paris and Berlin a curated programme gathering works by internationally renowned artists and filmmakers, along with works by young artists, and filmmakers shown for the first time in Paris and Berlin.

Among the artists who have taking part in the past editions, through cartes blanches, special screenings and premieres, are: David Lynch, Claire Denis, Jean-Luc Godard, Pedro Costa, Laurie Anderson, Michael Snow, Valie Export, Antoni Muntadas, Chantal Akerman, Alexandre Sokourov, Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
Over the years, major cultural venues in Paris and Berlin have hosted the event, giving the works and ideas the best attention. These include the Louvre auditorium, the Grand Palais auditorium, the Centre Pompidou and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt.

The event is a unique platform in Europe where artists can meet and exchange ideas with a large audience and professionals. Above all, it is a real forum in the presence of guests from around the world: artists, filmmakers, institutions and emerging organizations, giving us an insight into current creation, new issues and emerging artistic and cultural contexts.

It is supported by the DRAC Île-de-France - Ministry of Culture, CNC Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée, the Regional Council Île-de-France, the City of Paris and the Cité internationale des arts.
