Welcome to Take Flight Film Festival

The Take Flight Film Festival is a new aged festival that allows the winning productions to be aired nationwide on the SGA TV Network. Built around the content of the independent artist exclusively, the SGA TV Network supports indie filmmakers like no major network has before as they debut The Take Flight Film Festival. The festival is specially tailored for the independent filmmaker trying to go mainstream. As an independent creator, having the proper platform is as important as the quality of the work itself. With winners having the chance to be seen across multiple platforms nationwide, the possibilities are limitless when it comes to what can happen next, but you’ll never know unless you Take Flight.

With the past year like we’ve had, we have no doubt some stories will reflect every bit of the pain, frustration, and worldwide disconnect that was experienced. With the world just now really beginning to pick back up in some parts, many independent filmmakers have been sitting on some amazing ideas and projects. Now is the time to share them and the Take Flight Film Festival is the place to do so.

The festival will accept short films, documentaries, talk shows, series, animations, and full feature films from all genres including drama, comedy, horror, and action to name a few. The Take Flight Film Festival aims to provide indie filmmakers with quality projects the opportunity to get the nationwide exposure their work demands. Accepting projects from April 15, 2021, until July 10, 2021. Don’t miss out on your chance to get your work to the next level.

Awards & Prizes

» ​Nominations – Films nominated for each category will be contacted on the notification date, and listed on our website and social media pages. Nominated filmmakers are invited to join the event, although only the films in the Official Selection (below) will be screened.

» Official Selection – Films selected for screening will be notified if they have been considered to be part of SGA Take Flight Film Festival Official Selection on the notification date. Screening materials will be requested and more information about the event will be provided.

» Winners – Award winners will be selected from the Nominations & Official Selection and announced at our festival, after the screenings, and online the following day.

Rules & Terms

RULES
1- In order to submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
2- The Festival relationship will exclusively be related to the film submitter.
3- Any Foreign film that is not in English must have English subtitles.
4- All fees are non-refundable.
5- Take Flight will not be responsible for damaged copies.
6- Not all the submissions are selected for the official competition. Our Judges are free to make their own choices and no answers will be given about not-selected films.
7-Take Flight can consider any film to be disqualified if the festival considers the content inappropriate. If you have any question regarding this decision you might contact us at our email address info@takeflightfilmfestival.com
8- Filmmakers can submit the film in multiple categories in order to become a multi-award film. Our Team may suggest the categories that are more suitable for the film to apply. Still, the decision about the selection is strictly determined by our Take Flight Judges Forum and no selection is guaranteed.
9- A fee is required for the main category submission and also fees for additional categories. For payment structure visit (FilmFreeway website).
10- The applicants (submitters) must accept Take Flight Film Festival Rules and Terms.
11- All submissions in personal categories required the name of the person and the category. You can easily send us this information in the cover letter at FilmFreeway website.
12- Submitting your movie, you authorize Take Flight Film Festival to use, distribute and share the film poster, trailer, synopsis and movie stills in our social media.
13- Maximum length allowed is 40 minutes for short films.
14- Maximum length allowed is 90 minutes for full feature films.
