Morocco Shorts started in 2019 at Rabat International Author Film Festival, a festival that is based on a long history of festival experience; later it was developed to be an independent film festival dedicated for short films filmmakers only.
The Mission of Shorts is to promote young filmmakers by screening their films, and to promote their talents and artistic excellence, and empower them in the start of their career. The festival provides equal opportunities for both Moroccan and International participants, embracing all cultures, regardless of gender, religion, or ethnicity. In the festival selection, our programmers focus on diversity, respect for human rights, gender equity, and concern for global issues.
Morocco Shorts International Film Festival accepts both Moroccan and international short films in different categories: Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Experimental, Web & New Media; applicants may be graduating students or independent filmmakers.
In addition to its rich and wide selection of short films, the program includes master classes, seminars and workshops around different topics in filmmaking in collaboration with national and international partners.
