Greenwood Film Festival is now celebrating its 6th year in 2026! Based in the home of Black Wall Street, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, our mission is to create an atmosphere of family and life through film and civic discourse while equipping the next generation of storytellers.

The festival brings filmmakers and movie enthusiasts together for four days filled with screenings, engaging discussions, classes, and networking opportunities.

GFF has featured screened films from Oscar-nominated directors to first-time trailblazers.

The Greenwood Film Festival launched on June 12, 2021, during the 100-year centennial of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. GFF was founded by writer, director, and composer Dennis Y. Delemar, who envisioned a space where filmmakers could tell rich stories that would impact the Tulsa community and beyond. Films that inspire us to become who we were created to be.

GFF is committed to equipping you with industry-standard tools to help you excel. GFF has also established relationships with distribution channels to help you reach a wider audience with your film.

Prizes range from a professional yearly award and lifetime software to a streaming distribution deal on an up-and-coming streaming service. More prizes are coming soon!

Rules & Terms

ELIGIBILITY, RULES & REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE READ)
• Oklahoma films must be a World Premiere to screen at GFF.
• GFF accepts films and videos made by directors of Black/African descent from any country. If the film is not directed by a person of Black/African descent it must have a black lead and/or black ensemble.
• Films can be of any genre and must have a black lead and/or black ensemble.
• All submissions must be in English or have English subtitles.
• The final screening format will be requested upon film selection.
• On your FilmFreeway page please have trailers in MP4/MOV format, production stills (300dpi), short synopsis, cast & crew credits and a press release.

TERMS
Upon selection, the film's trailer, stills, and press material will be used for promotional purposes for this year's festival and in the years to come. Please note, that you are still responsible for the promotion of your film, but we will help.

You must have the legal right to submit the work and any other materials accompanying your submission. If you do not read the rules, and submit a film that doesn't meet your requirements, you will not be refunded. Selected films can be withdrawn.

    I truly hate that I wasn’t able to attend in person, but I’m so grateful to have won the Outstanding Screenplay Award for my film The Solution. The Greenwood Film Festival is doing amazing work in the community, and I really admire how they combine film with impact. Their communication throughout the process was excellent, and I always felt informed and supported. I also appreciate that the award winners received items that are genuinely helpful for growing as a filmmaker and improving my craft. Overall, a great festival experience—I’m honored to have been a part of it.
