The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Los Angeles Short Film Showcase is a cinematic celebration of new projects by union performers, designed to encourage performers to create their own short films and web series.

Held twice a year, in April and August at our Los Angeles Actors Center, the showcase not only features a shorts program, but includes a Q&A and reception with the films’ directors, producers and actors present at the screening.

We are no longer taking submissions by mail. NO DOCUMENTARIES.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

All entries MUST be produced under a SAG-AFTRA Short Film or SAG-AFTRA New Media contract. Filmmakers MUST provide the project’s SAG-AFTRA production number. For questions regarding your production number please call the SAG-AFTRA office at 323-954-1600.

If the short film was created when the filmmaker was a student at USC or AFI then the submission does not need a production number. Please make a note of the school affiliation with the submission. All other student films must have individual student film SAG-AFTRA agreements and submit their production number.

Entries must be completed projects, and not run more than 20 minutes, including credits – no exceptions.
