ATTENTION: This is a Star Wars fan film (or at least inspired-by-Star-Wars sci-fi) festival, so please do not submit unless you meet this prerequisite or we will sadly have to disqualify your entry.

We’re opening submissions for the first-ever Empire Con Fan Film Fest, celebrating fan films from around the globe. With submissions to be screened during Empire Con Los Angeles (6-8 December 2019), and featured exposure following the show at EmpireConLA.com, your submission will gain an audience of fans of STAR WARS the world over.

(NOTE that we are also hosting a separate Film Race where teams have 72 hours to write, shoot and edit a sci-fi film. That event does have a small entry fee, so its details are separately found at http://bit.ly/2019ECFF.)

The Festival will showcase existing short films, feature-length productions, animated projects, and student filmmakers, as well as the entries of the 72-Hour Empire Con Film Race, where teams can register to compete for the unique honor of Best Original Fan Feature.

All submissions to the Empire Con Film Fest produced in the last two years will be eligible to compete for Best In Category awards for Features, Shorts, Animated Projects, Student Filmmakers, and Youth Filmmakers (age 18 and under). Professionals from across the film industry will judge the films and issue awards for each category, which will be announced in a special Main Stage panel on Sunday 8 December 2019.

We can’t wait to see your film!

Winners for each entry category will be announced at the event. (Any other subcategories or additional honors are currently T.B.A.)
