SUBMISSIONS
The entry fee is nonrefundable. Entries must be SUBMITTED by the deadlines. Submission costs vary depending upon the category and entry date. When submitting to the festival you are agreeing that, if selected by the Programmers of Mixed Bag Film Festival (MBFF), to screen the submitted film during the dates of the festival. MBFF will not pay any screening fees for presentation of the film during the festival.
ENTRY REGULATIONS
Submissions for the MBFF are open to domestic and international entrants. The MBFF reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any project submitted. Entrants must have the legal and irrefutable right to submit projects to MBFF. Neither MBFF nor any of its organizers shall be held liable for any violation of copyright infringement if the entrant has failed to disclose legal hindrances or obtain appropriate clearances. Submissions do not have to be domestic or international premieres and may have previously screened at other festivals. However, eligible submissions may not have run on cable, broadcast television, satellite, VOD, social apps, the internet or have screened theatrically within 120 days of the MBFF. All submissions must have been completed with a budget of $250,000 USD or less. Legacy Content are defined as those completed before July 1, 2018. All other film submissions must have been completed after July 1, 2018. Failure to abide by these guidelines are grounds for disqualification and forfeiture of the submission fee.
FILM/VIDEO ENTRIES
All foreign language entries must have English subtitles. Projects must be submitted for consideration as an online screener. Works in progress will not be considered or screened in the festival. Screening materials, press kits and any other requested application materials sent to MBFF will NOT be returned. If you did not receive a confirmation of submission, please email jason@mixedbagfilmfestival.com. All accepted projects must meet digital exhibition quality guidelines. Failure to provide requested digital files will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the submission fee.
COMPETITION
The MBFF offer prizes for designated categories. Unless notified otherwise, all films officially selected are eligible for competition. All films are nominated and voted upon by an impartial jury of filmmakers, industry professionals, festival programmers and film aficionados.
PRESS MATERIALS
If selected, the MBFF will require an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) to include high-resolution production stills, bios of the director, production notes and full cast and crew credits.
LIABILITY
Although every possible care will be taken with submission materials while in our possession, we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage. Please notify the MBFF of any address/phone number, or email address changes or changes in eligibility.
REPRODUCTION AGREEMENT
Submission of an entry gives the MBFF permission to have excerpts of accepted work, including film trailers, shown in all promotional activities related to the festival.
NOTIFICATION
Films selected for the MBFF will be notified no later than Oct. 31, 2019.
