NO LONGER NETWORK presents: Night Shorts Series

Night Shorts is a monthly curated showcase celebrating bold short-form work across Short Films, Music Videos, Photography, and Screenplays. Each month we select standout pieces as Official Selections to feature in our virtual screening room (with live chat) and in a newsroom spotlight.

What Official Selection means

- Official Selections are featured in our monthly virtual showcase and a newsroom article
- At the end of the year, Official Selections from each month compete at our live Night Shorts Year-End Gala, with recognition awarded in each category (subject to change).

Eligibility + specs (quick check)

- Short Films + Music Videos: under 25 minutes.

- Screenplays: up to 20 pages

- Photography: permitted if the image is not AI-generated
- Editing is allowed (including some AI-assisted editing), but AI image generation is not
- You must be able to provide proof of authorship/original creation if requested

Categories

Short Films + Music Videos

Submit your work to be considered for Official Selection in our monthly virtual screening room, complete with live chat for audience and filmmaker interaction. Official Selections are also featured in a newsroom article.

Copyright note: Please ensure all content complies with copyright laws (music, clips, stock, etc.) before submitting. We recommend uploading your video privately on YouTube first to check for any automatic copyright claims.

Photography

Submit your strongest images to be considered for Official Selection. Official Selections are showcased at the beginning of each monthly broadcast and featured in our online newsroom. Please note: we do not accept AI-generated images.

Screenplay

Submit your screenplay (up to 20 pages) to be considered for Official Selection and the chance to receive feedback from industry professionals.

- Each month, the top 5 Official Selection screenplays receive ratings, notes, and ideas
- One Official Selection screenplay is chosen as the monthly winner and invited to a virtual table read with professional actors
- Optional add-on: on-demand table read available regardless of placement

If you want the absolute cleanest consistency, you can also standardize the film/video side with one extra line like: “A subset of Official Selections may be named monthly winners,” but the above already makes “Official Selections compete” true everywhere.

Awards & Prizes

If your work receives an Official Selection, it’ll be screened at our live year-end event.

Rules & Terms

We accept any films or music videos under 25 minutes. Photography is allowed as long as you can prove that you have not used AI for the creation of it (some AI is allowed in editing of the image, but not in generation).

Screenplays can be up to 20 pages long.
