The Feminist Film Series is a year-round feature film screening series programmed and hosted by the Barnard College Media Center. By popular demand, we are programming an evening comprised entirely of non-fiction short films.

We engage with the community to challenge what feminist film is, and aim to create a positive discourse for fellowship and social change amongst media makers and media audiences.

Awards and prizes will be announced in 2020.

By submitting to Feminist Film Series, Filmmaker confirms that they have all necessary legal authority and rights required to submit their film, and to publicly screen said film in the case of acceptance.
If a film is accepted, we prefer but do not require that one filmmaker attend the screening to represent the film during the audience Q&A.
Films and videos that are non-fiction or incorporate non-fiction elements of any genre.
Feminist Film Series is not a “premiere” festival meaning that your film does not have to be a premiere to be accepted.
We do not accept works in progress.
Preview format must be through secure online screeners.
Non-English language films must be subtitled in English.
