HORROR-RAMA 2022 International Short Film Festival

A little about HORROR-RAMA:

HORROR-RAMA is Toronto's ONLY convention and fan experience DEADicated to celebrating horror film culture of all kinds. The show is the brainchild of Luis Ceriz, founder and owner of Toronto’s landmark film culture emporium, SUSPECT VIDEO, Chris Alexander, filmmaker (QUEEN OF BLOOD, FEMALE WEREWOLF), synthwave composer (Music for Murder, Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll), former editor of FANGORIA and co-founder/editor of DELIRIUM magazine as well as marketing specialist (FANGORIA, FANTASM) and actress (BLOOD DYNASTY) Cheryl Singleton. Actress, writer, performer, and producer Ali Chappell joined the team in 2018. Together, these multiple maniacs bring their broad knowledge of cinema and of the convention landscape to HORROR-RAMA along their enthusiasm and passion for all things bizarre and fantastical.

The HORROR-RAMA International Horror Short Film Festival is organized by John Nicol, indie-horror filmmaker (CHANNEL ZERO, UNDERNEATH: An Anthology Of Terror). This is John's third outing as Festival Organizer.

This year we will also be launching a HORROR-RAMA YouTube channel which will be made available to all our 2022 "Official Selections". An email invite will be issued to all following the event.

HORROR-RAMA 7 (2022) is open to a variety of short horror films ranging from slasher flicks, super-natural, dark thrillers, exploitation, dark-experimental, horror-comedy; however, they must fall somewhere within the horror genre.

Please let us know if this will be your Canadian/Toronto and or World Premiere.

Short Films – must be no longer than 20 Minutes.

Film format must be a Download link or from a downloadable site, i.e., Vimeo. We are not accepting any physical copies or DCP's.

Films selected will immediately receive "Official Selection" laurels.

The main contact submitting must be authorized to do so and must have permission from any sales agents or distributors involved. When completing the submission process, you agree to have the necessary rights for screening the film at HORROR-RAMA 7 (2022).

SUBMISSIONS: Submissions can ONLY be made via FilmFreeway.com. There is no other way.

FEES: Submissions are subject to fees, and these are non-refundable and final.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE: Foreign language films are welcomed; we MUST insist that non-English dialogue movies must be subtitled in English, and not dubbed.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES: You may submit as many shorts as you want.

NOTIFICATION: All applicants will receive an email shortly after the closing date whether they have been successful or not.

SELECTION PROCEDURE: Each film submitted will be viewed by at least two members of The Horror-Rama selection committee. All decisions on are final.

SELECTION: If selected, a non-watermarked screening copy of the film must be with us, no later than September 11, 2022.

PUBLICITY AND PRESS: By submitting to HORROR-RAMA you agree to the use of stills in press and publicity for the festival. These may be included in our official program, press releases, a festival trailer on our website, and all our social media platforms.

Additionally, we will be inviting all the officially selected films to partake in our new HORROR-RAMA YouTube channel… All Official Selections will receive an invite via email, allowing you to decide whether you want your film screened on said channel… If we don’t hear from you, we will assume that you have declined our invite to participate.

Outstanding festival with a team that really know the indie horror scene. Wasn't able to make it person but received first rate communication throughout. The festival has a strong social media presence and I will definitely be submitting my future work. Highly recommended.
