Latitude Film Awards is an independent film competition dedicated to recognising, showcasing, promoting and awarding filmmakers around the world.

Awards will be presented to independent filmmakers that produce unique and compelling films. Our aim is to honour, celebrate and award the best talent in the global filmmaking community.

Submissions do not compete against each other. Instead, all projects are judged against a high standard of merit of various departments, and are scored accordingly based on Originality/Creativity, Direction, Writing, Cinematography, Performances, Production Value, Pacing, Structure and Sound/Music.

The winners of the Platinum Award are guaranteed a spot in our screening.

Films entered in multiple categories may win multiple awards.

Platinum Award
Winners are guaranteed spot in our spring screening held in London, receive a digital certificate, laurels and our ‘Achievement’ statuette. All winners will be announced on our website and promoted via social media.

Gold Award / Silver Award / Bronze Award
Winners will receive a digital certificate and laurels to commemorate their achievement. All winners will be announced on our website and promoted via social media.

Latitude Film Awards accepts all forms and genres. All films must be in English or have English subtitles. Multiple entries are allowed for each filmmaker and each entry may be entered in multiple categories separately. Latitude Film Awards reserves the right, at any time, without notice and without limiting any and all other rights we may have under these Rules & Regulations, at law or in equity, to remove and delete your entry to the festival.

Submissions must be an original work of the applicant’s team and not based, in whole or part, on another author’s work (unless underlying material is in public domain). You agree that you will not submit any content that is libellous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, sexually, racially, culturally, or ethnically offensive, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, discriminatory or abusive.

By submitting your film, you allow Latitude Film Awards to use parts of your film (including trailer/teaser/film poster/stills) for promotional purpose. A short synopsis and digital still photo is required for all scripts and all entries (except music videos) for the jury, and for our website announcements should you win.

Please select the right category while submitting to avoid disqualification.

Entry does not guarantee acceptance into the festival. No premiere status is required. Rough cuts and incomplete projects are not accepted.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Latitude Film Awards, its management, juries, subsidiaries, agents, sponsors, affiliates, and etc. from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

Entry fees are non-refundable.

My experience communicating with the festival has been very disappointing. I was notified that our film had received an award. I had submitted the film in two categories, yet it was never made clear which category the award referred to in the email I received. I have sent multiple emails requesting our laurels and certificate, but I have not received any response.

I also contacted the filmfreeway team, and I was told that the only official communication channel is the same email address I had already been using, which remains unanswered.

This lack of response raises concerns about the reliability and transparency of the festival’s communication process.

    Response from festival:

Thank you for your feedback. We can confirm that a winners' notification email was sent on 23 December 2025 to the contact email provided with the submission. The award category was specified in that email, and laurels and certificates were made available to award winners.

We are sorry to hear that you experienced difficulties obtaining this information. Please contact us again and we will be happy to resend any materials you require.

We wish you all the best with your film and future projects.

  • We were truly happy and honored by the selection and award of our feature film PIECE FOR SOLO SOLITUDE. For our entire team, it was a great joy to take part in this Festival and to have our film included among so many other works of outstanding quality

  • It was such an honor to win the “Documentary Feature” category with my film “Chernobyl – A Bomb That Keeps Ticking” (2024). Even though I couldn’t attend in person, the experience was incredibly rewarding. The recognition my film received has been deeply encouraging, and I am grateful for the exposure and validation it provided.

Our experience with the Latitude Film Awards was thoroughly positive and we so appreciate the recognition for our original screenplay The Four Flames. We’ll be back again soon with our next project!
