Starlight Film Awards

Please read these terms and conditions before you submit your film. The filmmaker/institution that is submitting the film must own the rights to do so and is responsible for the content they are providing. By entering your film for consideration for STARLIGHT FF, you authorize that your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property therein. Entry into the festival constitutes permission to exhibit your work online at STARLIGHT FF. STARLIGHT FF is also hereby granted the right to utilize the e-mails through which the entries were submitted as well as posters, photos, excerpts from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless STARLIGHT FF from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered. STARLIGHT FF DOES NOT PAY SCREENING FEES. By submitting your film via FilmFreeway you acknowledge that the festival will not pay to present your work nor will it provide feedbacks or reviews in the event of your film not having been accepted.

By submitting your film to STARLIGHT Film Awards, you expressly acknowledge that you agree and you shall be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Submission does not guarantee selection. Please note that we do not offer fee waivers. You also acknowledge that no submission fee refunds are given once application has been submitted. Filmmakers’ submission fee will not be reimbursed if they decide to withdraw their submission. All entry fees are non-refundable.Films submitted without the correct fees or proper submission copy may be deemed ineligible at the discretion of the programming director or executive director. STARLIGHT FF does not cover any of the expenses incurred by the filmmaker. STARLIGHT FF reserves the right to refuse entries at our discretion. You also acknowledge that you will not receive any compensation for the use of your film by STARLIGHT FF in accordance with the rules, terms and conditions. STARLIGHT FF may without advance notice amend these terms and conditions from time to time. Each and every such amendment shall be become effective immediately. It is your responsibility to periodically check for updates of these terms and conditions. All entries are carefully pre-screened prior to the public showing to assure that the DCP does perform to industry standards. STARLIGHT FF assumes no responsibility for any technical difficulties in the presentation of this video at the actual event. The organization reserves the complete right to make changes in the program dates and times and to possibly not screen the video, despite its being selected for screening. The filmmaker will endeavour to present to the organizer a new and pre-checked Hard disk / DCP for the actual presentation of the video at the event.
You understand and acknowledge that, if you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian must agree to the terms of this Filmmaker Release on your behalf. As a Parent or Guardian of a minor filmmaker, if applicable, you understand and acknowledge that you are agreeing to the terms of this Filmmaker/Guardian/Representative Release on behalf of your child or a child for whom you are a legally designated Guardian.
