The eighth edition of "Chaniartoon - International Comic & Animation Festival", will be held in Chania, on September 2024.

The Festival is designed to showcase animation short films from all around the world, made both by students and professionals. There will be a special section for Greek animation movies.

During the festival, there will be a comic exhibition with a great artist alley, workshops, VR & AR exhibition, projection mapping, presentations, masterclasses, and many more events.

The main theme for 2024 is horror.

All selected films will be projected in the festival.
Official Selected films and awarded, may be projected also in several places, on official festival events.

Rules & Terms

All the selected films will be live projected during the festival.
Part of the films, will be projected also through livestreaming (one time projection, without on-request or download feature)

    Thank you so much for screening my animated short "In Search Of Birds" at the 7th Chaniartoon. It was an honor for it to receive a Special Mention in the festival's 2023 Animation Award announcements.

    While I wasn't able to attend in person, it is very cool that the festival offers accommodations for filmmakers able to make the trip to Chania.
