  • It is always a pleasure to receive prompt responses to my submissions, even if it is just a friendly note to say they received it. Always love it 'consideration,' 'placement,' and 'awards. Silver State communications were always friendly.

  • Thank you for screening my film "Bill Murray Lost in Berlinale" in Las Vegas. I did not make it to Las Vegas, but I did make it to the Golden State Film Festival which is organized by the same team with the same festival strategy. I think that Peter Greene and his team are doing a great job for independent filmmakers making it possible for them to show their work in these amazing venues. Any festival organized by Peter Greene and Jon Gursha is based on my experience worth investing in. The only downside is the 10 am time slot for international filmmakers. It is very difficult to get the audience to come to the cinema that early - especially in the middle of the week. International filmmakers, like myself, also travel for many hours to get to the festival. Since the festival doesn't cover the costs of traveling and accommodation, it would still be a good idea to announce participants a bit earlier, so that international filmmakers have time to book their tickets at a moderate price and get some costs covered by the local cultural centers - at least in Europe we have some of these options. International films are almost never screened in LA - that is what a local producer told me at the film festival, and I presume that the same thing goes for Las Vegas, so for international filmmakers, it is a great opportunity to have a chance to show their work to an American audience in these amazing venues - and it seems that local independent filmmakers see it as a great opportunity as well, but 10 am is a "No-Go".

  • Though we where unable to attend, the communication from the festival and Peter was stellar throughout the whole process. We are very proud to have screened our short film Wayne, at the Silver State Film Festival.
