The New York WILD Film Festival and NYU are partnering to host the third annual "WILD in New York" student short film contest. NY WILD showcases documentaries from around the world that cover a spectrum of wild topics, from exploration and adventure to wildlife, conservation, and the environment.

****PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE A CURRENT NYU STUDENT TO ENTER, AND THE FILM MUST BE A DOCUMENTARY.

Everyone thinks "the wild" is someplace else, but it's right here, in our streets, homes, parks, waterways, and rooftops! Students from all disciplines and levels of study are invited to create a 2-5 min film (high quality cell phone videos accepted) on the theme “WILD in New York.” Surprise viewers with the unexpected stories of how you experience the wild amidst the urban world that surrounds you.

The jury will select the Best Film and the Honorable Mention. Both winning films will screen on campus at NYU, alongside a curated series of professional films from the 2023 New York WILD Film Festival lineup. The on-campus festival screening event will be on Friday, March 31, 2023.

The winners of Best Film and Honorable Mention will be awarded cash prizes. Both films will be screened at the "WILD in NY" program at NYU Friday, March 31, 2023.

Films must be 2-5 minutes in length (high quality cell phone videos accepted) on the themes of exploration, adventure, wildlife, conservation, and the environment in New York City.

Students from different departments are encouraged to submit their work.

YOU MUST BE AN NYU STUDENT TO ENTER, ANY OTHER FILMS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
