We invite submissions from Latin America, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, and the United States. Our aim is to present the most outstanding Ibero-American films available and to help them achieve international success.

The Seattle Latino Film Festival is an in-person, ranked in the Top 5 of the best Latino-American Film Festivals in the United States. SLFF offers a fun-filled event where participants have numerous opportunities to connect with enthusiastic new audiences, fellow filmmakers, industry professionals, non-profit organizations, and the media in the beautiful Emerald City.

Seattle Latino Film Festival is the only forum in the Pacific Northwest for genuine Spanish and Portuguese cinema.

Trophy and Certificates will be designed by a local Artist. The festival will also grant the following monetary awards:

Best Narrative Feature - $ 1.000 USD
Best Documentary Feature - $ 600 USD
Best Short Documentary - $ 400.00 USD
Best Short Narrative - $ 350.00 USD
Best Short Animation - $250.00 USD

Only films completed on or after May 1, 2025, are eligible.

We accept only World, U.S., West Coast, or Northwest Coast premieres.

Submissions are welcome from Latin America, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, and the United States. All U.S. entries must be written, directed, or produced by a Latino(a) and/or have a theme relevant to Latino(a) culture.

Acceptable languages include Spanish, Portuguese, Indigenous languages, Italian, French, and English.

Subtitles are encouraged for all submissions but required only if the film is accepted into the festival. Non-English-language films must include English subtitles, and English-language films must include Spanish subtitles.

Submission fees are non-refundable.

Selections are based on the overall merit of each entry, and the judges’ decisions are final.

If your film is selected for screening in the Seattle Latino Film Festival’s October edition, including its various programs such as the Official Program, the Competition lineup, festival venues, or educational screenings at school auditoriums, a DCP link with encrypted subtitles will be required. We will also request a high-quality MP4 or H.264 file as a backup or for venues that do not have a DCP projector. All required files must be submitted no later than four weeks prior to the festival screening. Non-English-language films must include English subtitles, and English-language films must include Spanish subtitles.

The Festival does not handle copyright issues. All copyright matters must be resolved by the film’s creators.

Filmmakers retain 100% of the rights to their projects and materials submitted to the Seattle Latino Film Festival.

Festival organizers reserve the right to use excerpts of the film for promotional purposes.

By entering this festival, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless SLFF, its officers, affiliates, employees, and partners from any and all claims and liabilities arising from entering and/or submitting your film to the Seattle Latino Film Festival.

We do not offer waiver codes for films with distribution. Any distributor must pay the submission fee.
