Creativity fueled by Flint!

Say hello to the Vehicle City Film Festival!

After ten years as the Flint Youth Film Festival, we have decided to expand and rebrand our festival into something that has a connection to the city of Flint, which we call home.

We still have our youth categories for young filmmakers 13-18, but we have expanded to accept short films from anyone and everyone in the United States and Canada! Our continued mission is to introduce the art of filmmaking to young filmmakers and provide them with venues for developing their storytelling talents. Also, to give those who have gone out into the world a chance to show us what they've been working on.

Select Awards Determined by Judges:

The Heart Award: Given to a film that connects deeply with a subject and allows the audience in.
Audience Choice Award: Chosen by the viewers of the Festival on our website flintyouthfilmfestival.com
Industry Award: Given by a select group of industry professionals who pick a standout film from all entrants.

1. Eligibility –
a. Any person who enters must be at least 13 years old and living in the United States and Canada. Entrants must meet the minimum age requirements when the film was made and completed.

c. For 2026, we are accepting films made in the last two years. Group projects, as well as individual works, are acceptable. All submissions must be produced by entrants.
