Rapport Festival is an international African diaspora (BLACK) arts festival that is here to redefine the artistic and cultural landscape of the UK.

By placing the spotlight on work created by Sub-Saharan African diaspora practitioners and artists from multiple genres and art disciplines, the festival offers a unique platform that celebrates and elevates African diaspora artistic expression from across the international diaspora.

Rapport Festival is multidisciplinary. We embrace African diaspora visual artists, musicians, dancers, DJs, spoken word & live performance artists, filmmakers, theatre makers, innovative creatives, agitators and all round movers & shakers.

We’re looking for films that touch upon the hybrid nature of the black African diaspora/African Heritage experience throughout the world. We're particularly interested in submissions from African diaspora filmmakers from: UK, Caribbean, Europe, South America, Canada, Asia, Egypt and the Middle East.

Rapport Festival 2024 will be delivered between March and July 2024.

All selected films win Rapport Festival Official Selection laurels.

You must have the legal right to submit the work and any supporting materials, and by submission, you give us permission to screen the work at a Rapport Film Festival event and utilise supporting material in our programme, website, social media and promotional materials.

Rapport Film Festival, which is black film festival, is one of the best festivals I have been to in the last 12 months. Why? Because the selection of films were fantastic in terms of putting black tv and film talent front and centre, because the films enabled us to see the world from an international point of view, because I can remember how empowered when I attended. I was empowered because I was impressed by the greatness that was coming up on the screen. And finally, the Great thng about Rapport is Lara, the festival director, who brought all this black excellence to us in a place where we could all felt like talking to each other and networking and making new friends and peers. Thank you Rapport. See you next yeat.

  • It was an absolute honour, pleasure and delight to have our film selected and screened at Rapport this year! They care about the filmmakers, their stories, their journeys and giving them a platform to be heard. It would be great to have award categories as well and I really believe this festival deserves to be recognised for giving back to the black community. We will certainly be submitting our next project to Rapport

I'm so glad my film, The Candy Lady, was selected for Rapport Festival. I flew from the US to London to attend and watch my film and the others. There was a great bunch of films screening this year! I also enjoyed connecting with others in attendance.
