KısaKes Univision is an international short film festival, which is made only by and for university students and it aims to achieve its mission by providing them a social and artistic platform to express themselves and socialize with different artists from different cultures, lives and social backgrounds.

Screenings of the finalist films will be simultaneously viewed in 20+ cities around Europe and U.S. which will make elected films globally reachable!

One team member from each finalist film will be invited to the festival events and award ceremony which will be held in Istanbul. They will also be hosted in Istanbul after the festival for special events and tours in Istanbul. Their stay will be 7 days in total.

KISAKES (CUT IT SHORT) SHORT FILM FESTIVAL SUBMISSON RULES

COMPETITION RULES
* Ongoing university students and newly graduated students’ (must be graduate in 2018, works of people who are graduated before 2018 will be considered ‘Out of Competition’) works will be considered for competition section.
* After uploading your film to FilmFreeway, please send your updated student certificate (student certificates that are not in English must be translated to English) or student card with a valid date and National Identity Card or passport to info@kisakes.org and write your film's name to the subject of your e-mail. (If you are a newly graduated student please send a document that shows you graduated in 2018).
* Films must be no more than 5 minutes long without the credits . Films that are more than 5 minutes will be automatically taken as 'Out of Competition', they will have the chance to be screened during the festival.
* Credits must be less than 01:30 minutes.
* Competition is open to all nationalities who are no older than 27 years of age ( You must be no older than January 1991).
* Films should be submitted for selection in their original language with English subtitles.
* Films which done before September 2016 will not be accepted for competition section.
* We don’t have an equipment limitation. Films can be made with any kind of device that can record motion picture. We try to encourage students to turn their ideas into films in any way.
* Animals that have been used in the films should not be harmed.
* Films which submitted for previous editions of the festival will not be accepted. You cannot submit same films. Those films will be disqualified.
* If your film is shortlisted, you will be required to supply a copy of your film's Apple ProRes 422 HQ format.
If your film is selected as finalist, you will be ask to provide these materials:
Apple ProRes 422 HQ format of your film
- A short biography of the director (Max. 150 words, in English)
- A short synopsis (Max. 120 words, in English)
- 2 high resolution photos of the director (1 horizontal, 1 vertical)
- Poster of the film
- Photo of the passport information page
- Student certificate or valid dated student card
- For newly graduates diploma or relevant document that shows the date of graduation
- Signed copy of the KısaKes (Cut It Short) Short Film Festival Submission Rules

OUT OF COMPETITION SCREENINGS RULES
* No age requirement.
* Time limit of 5 minutes does not apply for this category but films must be no more than 15 minutes long without the credits (still, at least try to 'cut it short'!)
* Credits should be no longer than 01:30 minutes.
* Films should be submitted for selection in their original language with English subtitles.
* Films which submitted for previous editions of the festival will not be accepted. You cannot submit same films.
* Films which done before September 2016 will not be accepted for out of competition section.
* Animals that have been used in the films should not be harmed.
* If your film is shortlisted, you will be required to supply a copy of your film's Apple ProRes 422 HQ format.
If your film is selected for screening, you will be ask to provide these materials:

GENERAL RULES
By submitting your film to this festival, you agree that;
* I give KısaKes permission to use an image of me and my film in its publicity and on its website.
* I give KısaKes permission to screen my film at the yearly festival and as a part of an ongoing online festival of works produced by young filmmakers.
* I give KısaKes permission to screen my film (whole or in part) at Festival presentations, programs, and/or yearly events of KısaKes.
* I hold KısaKes harmless from any damage to the print(s) or tape(s) or media en route or otherwise during the course of the festivals.
* I hold KısaKes, its management, agents, sponsors, affiliates, and etc. harmless from any and all claims of liability resulting from my entry.
* As the Submitter/Producer, I agree to take on all copyright liability in regard to submitted film.
* I give my permission for KısaKes to share my film and contact information with KısaKes festival partners, sponsors, and affiliates.
* Submission does not guarantee acceptance into KısaKes Short Film Festival.
* KısaKes holds the right to make changes in rules.

* *The film you’re submitting is truly the work of an university student, with little or no adult input.
