ENIMATION festival 2023: Regulations

1. Festival
ENIMATION, international children and youth film festival, will be taking place between the 7th and 11th of November, in Maribor, Slovenia.

2. Competition part
ENIMATION festival is open for authors younger than 19 years from all over the world. Any film and animation technique is accepted. Short films no longer than 20 minutes can apply. We will accept films that the authors finished after January 1st, 2022. We will choose only the films that have not been screened at ENIMATION festival yet.

3. Applying for the competition part
To apply, you need to send the following until August 5th, 2023:
• electronic application form on FilmFreeway submission;
• if more than one film by the same author is applied, he must send us the application form for each film separately;
• please send films via the FilmFreeway portal;
• incomplete applications will not be accepted.

4. Categories
MINI filmmakers International – for authors aged under 10 years
MIDI filmmakers International – for authors aged between 11 and 14 years
MAXI filmmakers International – for authors aged between 15 and 19 years
MINI filmmakers Slovenia - authors younger than 10 years
MIDI filmmakers Slovenia - authors aged between 11 and 14 years
MAXI filmmakers Slovenia - authors aged between 15 and 19 years
Special topic: Human Rights.

In the short presentation of the film, please include the age of the authors.

5. Selection
The jury will finish the selection by October 10th, 2023, at the latest. The organizer will inform the authors of the selection via the FilmFreeway portal. The copies of all applied films (including those that are not selected) will become a part of the festival archive.

6. Sending copies
We accept films via FilmFreeway in the video format MPG4.

7. Lodging
We will inform guests about the possibilities of lodging after selecting films because it depends on each edition of the ENIMATION festival's financial capacity. For each film, we can invite only one representative and up to two children/youth – even when there are more authors of the film. You can not pass on the invitation to other persons. Guests also cover travel expenses.

8. Jury and awards
The organizers of the festival will name the international jury. The best film in each category of the ENIMATION festival program will be awarded. Additionally, the main prize for ENIMATION festival will be awarded. We might also present other awards presented.

9. Publishing, promotion, and archiving of the films
The festival calls upon authors, producers, and film distributors to send additional promotional material that will be made accessible for press, guests, and audiences during the festival. In addition, the chosen films can be included in special presentations after the festival or (with the authors' permission) published at the ENIMATION Festival Facebook profile, and other events for festival promotion.

10. Jurisdiction
Taking part in the festival means that you agree with the regulations described above. Matters not defined by the rules described above fall into the jurisdiction of the organizers of the festival. In case of dispute, the Slovenian version of the regulations applies.
