The South Georgian Bay Film Festival's (SGBFF) mission is to give regional, national and international filmmakers a platform to express their ideas and visions, as well as provide a venue to showcase the products of their creativity inclusive of the visual and dramatic arts, music industry and cultural background.

Through the art of film, SGBFF encourages understanding, respect, and fairness of all individuals, including their race, colour, creed, ethnicity, culture, place of origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, mental and physical health status, disability, and socio-economic class.

SGBFF's mandate is to support international, national and regional filmmakers, producers, directors, script writers, actors, animators and their support teams, by providing a medium through which they can showcase their projects, as well as provide film industry related workshops to the residents of the South Georgian Bay area.

South Georgian Bay is so much more than just a premier tourist destination. More importantly, it is the heart and soul, the adoration and devotion of its residents that makes South Georgian Bay so very special. To that end, the South Georgian Bay Film Festival is committed to serving the community that embraces it. In addition to the annual film festival, the South Georgian Bay Film Festival is thrilled to announce it is committed to providing free film related workshops to South Georgian Bay youth and seniors in the very near future.
