Glass Tulip Film Festival - March 16 & 17, 2018
Historic Turnage Theatre, Washington North Carolina

Featuring Amateur and Student films from North Carolina. Eligible students must be attending a NC high school, college or university.

Amateurs are non-student, non-professional full-time film makers living in NC.

The festival will be held at the Historic Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington, North Carolina.

Opening March 16 at 7 PM with the winning Best Overall film shown preceded by a meet & greet with some of the judges, film makers & cast.

Best of each film category shown on Saturday, March 17

Tickets on sale February 15, 2018.

Entry application will be posted soon.

- Short (30 minutes or less)

- Documentary

Winners will be notified by March 30, 2017 by email.

Rules & Terms

Rules & Fees:

Applicants must be living in or studying in North Carolina.

Applicants may enter as many entries in a single category as they like but may not enter the same entry in multiple categories.

Fees are $15 per entry for students and $25 per entry for amatuer/non-student.

    It was an honor for "Cart Blanche" to be chosen as a finalist to the first-year run of the 2017 Glass Tulip Film Festival; and you would never know it was first-year. Debra Torrence and Crystal Holman did an outstanding job in making the filmmakers feel right at home. From their welcome package that provided information about the town and discounts to popular area restaurants, to the memorable Dixieland jazz band playing just before the start of the festival, to the engaging reception on opening night, and of course in their securing the venerable and stunning historic Turnage Theater for the screenings, it was a festival to remember.

    We were honored to receive the award for Best Film this year for our short, After Yesterday. Though, even without that recognition, this is a great new festival. It's small (for now), but it's an amazing venue and this year had a great atmosphere with several high quality films from across the state. Hospitality was top notch and Washington, NC is a beautiful little town. Every non-professional filmmaker in NC needs to submit to and attend Glass Tulip!

    This festival was impressive for it's first year run. It was a perfect historic location and theater for their town. Debra And Cyrstal are amazing people and very nice. They treat you more than just a film maker.I am definitely recommend this festival for all film makers and locals. I loved the history of the theater and loved the way how they designed it. Congrats to all the winners this year!
