The team for THIS MODERN MAN IS BEAT thanks New York Short Film & Screenplay Festival! Every step of the submission process was facilitated by JoDa Hodge and his staff. Communication was thorough. Multiple screenings in NYC was a big plus, and future screenings will be useful leverage to get a second movie made. Thank you again. David J Schroeder, first-time producer/screenwriter/quadriplegic.

    Response from festival:

    Hi David,

With great pride we screened your film, This Modern Man is Beat, twice last weekend. We found the cinematography to be superb, the acting to be sublime and the entire production hypnotized our audiences.

Definitely let us know how we can help your powerful short film manifest into the feature it deserves.

    Cheers!

  • It was a great experience at this festival! Joda Hodge was a wonderful host and very commuincative and helpful throughout the process. The venues were nice and the films chosen were all really thought provoking, interesting, some with a touch of comedy... I got to network and meet new friends which is big part of what we hoped to experience. It was well organized and hospitable. I would definitely recommend this festival! Thanks for the wonderful time!

    Response from festival:

    Hi Abdul,

It was an absolute honor to screen your profound film, Curse of War, shining awareness on the struggles of PTSD survivors—and to meet your stellar cast and crew.

Please keep us updated on your feature-length version and on your music documentary because we would love to screen them too.

And, we would be honored if you helped cast some of our future projects.

    Cheers!

  • The festival communicated with me throughout the process ,my movie was a semi finalist but didn't make it to the screening, which is okay by me. Every festival know what they are looking for in a movie. For the guy that complained about tickets, almost every festival requires you to get a ticket to see other movies that are not in your film block. I think we are as film makers should continue making movies and not base how good we are at it because of the opinion of 10 people in a jury. I will submit again to this festival.
