The UNT Media Arts Festival is an emerging student-run festival, providing the opportunity for university-level filmmakers, both foreign and domestic, to exhibit their work. It will be held on University of North Texas campus April 6th – 8th 2017.
Now in its second year, the UNT Media Arts Festival takes place annually at University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. The three day event will include professional film screenings, meet and greets, and panels from professionals in the entertainment industry, culminating in a competitive student block and awards ceremony.
Continuing this theme, this year’s festival will celebrate emerging student work from those taking the first steps towards a professional career, and aims to provide a platform to encourage conversation and camaraderie across students and experiences.
The festival features six separate student competitions: the narrative film competition; the documentary film competition; the news competition; the screenplay competition; the audio competition; and the mixed media competition.
With broadly set categories, we hope to put together a program that encompasses of variety of genres, mediums, experiences, and cinematic journeys. All students are encouraged to submit work!
