Death By Festival will launch in Austin, TX on October 28, 2017. A one-day experience of extreme music and independent underground horror films, the event promises to be an experience unlike any other. The festival will take over the North Door venue, in the heart of Austin’s downtown music district, and promises to deliver all that is dark and grotesque in film and music to all who attend.

Festival co-founders Susie Winfield and Nic "Machine" Brown have joined forces to bring a visual and auditory assault-on-the-senses to Austin, TX. Best known for their former roles running the Housecore Horror Film Festival, they are life long horror fans and lovers of extreme, experimental music.

Musical acts and guest filmmakers will be announced in the coming months. The festival will begin accepting film submissions in April 2017. Tickets will go on sale soon!

One of the best atmosphere and exciting "mood" I've ever seen.
Organizers are very professional and staff are very communicative.
I couldn't attend events (and I didn't partecipate in conversation for my really bad English) but I could see what they do a great work with interest and passion, to create filmmaker connections.
I'm very grateful to have been included and I hope to have the chance to be involved in the future with another project.

While I was unable to attend the event (which is why I didn't rate all the criteria), I found the communication from their team to be great. They have a good social media presence, which is very important with a new festival like this. It was a perfect fit for my metal-related short film as well! Thanks for showing it!

  • This was a fantastic festival to be a part of. We were so disappointed that we could not attend the festival, but Susie and Nic were great at communicating and working with us. We had some friends in Austin that attended and said it was a blast. Huge thank you to Death By Festival for such a great opportunity. We will definitely keep submitting our films in the future.
