The Broadway International Film Festival is a true arthouse festival in every sense. Aiming to inspire, motivate and award new talent.

We focus on actors as we believe that actors are one of the most vital tools when creating films. There could be great direction, compelling story and visuals, soulful music; but all this can be a let down if the Actors do not do justice to their characters and to the story. At the most basic level the role of the actor is to translate an engaging and believable portrayal of the written character onto screen. But in doing so, an Actor needs many tools too. And this is one skill set that is limitless. Even if someone is a born Actor, his talent needs to be harnessed in a manner where either the Actor himself or the Director can draw on that talent and manifest it in a winning performance. Therefore an Actor needs to be a good listener observer, be able to take directions, be intuitive and must possess a tangible acting range.

ACTORS, CASTING DIRECTORS & ACTOR'S DIRECTORS
The festival discovers, supports and develops new talent in filmmaking, providing a platform for emerging and established filmmakers from around the world, and an unique focus on actors, casting directors and actor's directors. Connecting industry and audiences, the festival celebrates the creativity, diversity and impact of short film. There will be unmissable evening screenings where audiences can watch the best new short films from the hottest new talent, and opportunities to network with the industry.

Out of the official selections, an international jury will select one winner in each category (Narrative short, Documentary short...). One film will be labeled as 'best of the fest' and win the Broadway Spotlight Award. The value of the Broadway Spotlight Award equals 500 US dollar worth of submission fees with partner festivals (Venice Film Week, Hong Kong Arthouse Film Fesival, Toronto Film Week, Verona International Film Festival ...).
