***THE MOVIE MUST HAVE THE SUBJECT OF ECOLOGY, EVERYTHING ELSE WILL MOMENTLY BE DISQUALIFIED.***

Zagreb Green Fest is a pilot project from the Non governmental organization RIO – Zagreb, who, through cinema, education, expositions and activity programs dedicated to the ecology and environmental protection, encourages a culture of life with respect for nature.
The entry to the festival is free.
The festival program is divided into three sections:
- Green Genre
- Green Classroom
- Green Career.
The cinema portion of the festival, the “Green Genre” is divided into two segments: the competitive short film side and the “runway”, where everything is presented. The program has an international feeling, the festival participants would have the possibility to see various local films, European and international films with the subject of ecology, earth’s protection and other subjects linked with these themes. The objective here is to encourage university, primary and secondary school students to include themselves into the festival, alone or in a group. They can produce amateur films there, and can present them during the second part of the Green Genre.

The Green Classroom is an educational part of the festival, to enlighten people creatively with the help of experts.
The activities for the students are very important. They include workshops and conferences, as well as demonstrations. Next to the workshops, the festival participants could see shows for all ages.

The Green Career proposes a program full of shows, where various “green” products will be shown, as well as inventions and initiatives.
Green Career is a segment of the festival directed towards an ecological area, for students and professionals. Companies with important information’s will be present to aid students with what they need for a chance at a future job.

The ministries will also present their plans and programs, and the possibilities for the future graduates. Their participation will be taken into account by the faculties which will demonstrate their paths leading to the mentioned domains, and the individuals whose projects have been put in place.

There will be a free addition to the festival, where there will be free yoga classes, dance classes and meditation throughout the whole festival, as well as a presentation of bio food producers and art works depicting ecological subjects.

The awards will be announced and bestowed during the closing night of the event.

Rules & Terms

WE WILL ACCEPT ECOLOGICAL FILMS ONLY!!! ANY OTHER TYPE WILL BE REJECTED!!!
English subtitles needed! Prefer hardcoded, if not send us srt file!

The authors of selected films will be contacted directly by the staff of the festival.

The awards will be announced and bestowed during the closing night of the event.

The applicants need to submit following:

- via internet:
1 copy of the film in one of the following video formats: MOV, MP4 - via internet portal for documents sending (wetransfer.com, sendspace.com) on the address rio.zg@zagrebgreenfestival.com;
• Or through the film submission portals

- via post office:
• 2 CD or DVD copies of the film in one of the following video formats: MOV, MP4, DVD;
Films should be submitted by courier to:

The material received during the selection can be used by the press (both printed and on the web) to write articles about the first edition of the Festival and by the Organization of the Festival on its website and other official social networks.
Audiovisual excerpts of 15 seconds maximum of each work will be selected by the Press Office of the Festival, also guided by the author himself if necessary, and used by the broadcasting press to write articles exclusively about this first edition of the Festival or by the Organization of the Festival on the website and other official social networks.

MATERIALS AND RIGHTS
The films submitted to the contest will be part of the catalogue of the Festival and the video archive of the Zagreb Green Fest . The works will not be exploited commercially as to defend the interests of the authors and the producers. If the materials are employed in a different way from that previously mentioned, the authors will be contacted preventively and asked about their willingness for a new employment of them. Moreover, in compliance with the law against piracy, all the needed measures will be taken in order to defend the copyright of the works submitted to the Festival.

ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
The participation to the Festival implies the respect of the following rules. People who submit their work to the Festival have the responsibility to guarantee that they are legitimately authorized to don so. The Project coordinator has the right to make decisions about situations which are non-compliant with the rules and to make an exception in particular and justified cases. The Organization of the Festival reserves the right to modify the rules about dates and awards.
