Celebrating Hispanic American Heritage

What is the York Film Festival?

York Film Festival (YFF) is a film festival dedicated to increasing awareness of multi-cultural traditions through film and film production. In our third year we seek to identify films and videos made by and/or about people of Hispanic American Heritage. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore, promote and increase the range of roles for Hispanics in film and to celebrate accomplishments in the film industry. YFF will do this by presenting a variety of films with content celebrating the histories, culture, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The programming will represent a great diversity of themes and genres from talented filmmakers in the area. This two day film festival will also feature opportunities for attendees to participate in panel discussions at the screening.

Who Can Submit a Film?

The person submitting the film must have had a major creative role in the production of the film/video, such as, Producer, Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor, or Lead Actor.

What Kinds of Film Are We Looking For?

YFF accepts films and videos made by and/or about people of Hispanic Ancestry. (Filmmaker need not be of Hispanic descent). We are looking for content celebrating the histories, culture, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
