The Wimbledon Festival is something special. A fantastic evening was had in the newly refurbished Polka Theatre for the 2021 awards night. My film CANDLE COPS could not have premiered at a better run event. A big THANK-YOU to the dedicated team who make this festival happen year after year!

This festival is held in conjunction with a hugely popular Book Festival which draws big audiences to hear world renowned authors. It is held in a large marquee with a state of the art huge screen. For once (amongst many of the festivals I have visited) the audience was large and included lots of members of the public as well as film makers. It was extremely well organised and the viewing and audio amongst one of the best I have seen - just as good as the festivals that screen in a cinema and benefitting from being part of something else too. Whether or not the festival had problems in the past as some reviewers have stated, I don't know, but I have been at far more so called prestigious festivals where the projector and sound were nowhere near as good. We even had problems at a BAFTA screening. So I'd rate this festival very highly.

This was such a great festival. A really strong selection of films, presented in an environment conducive to viewing the content. A very nice, warm atmosphere and a large, extremely appreciative audience (of course, I would say that, wouldn’t I?? 🤔🍾). I was personally extremely delighted to pick up the Audience award on behalf of my small team for our film 'Edek'. Real privilege. Thanks Wimbledon!
