Our flagship event is our annual Women's History Month film festival, which allows us to showcase and honor the work of established and emerging independent filmmakers who are predominately women, that tell women's stories of faith, courage, hope, determination and fortitude. We also sponsor screenings of independent films of social relevance throughout the year. For "Passages: Women in Transition," our 2018 film festival we are especially interested in films that explore myriad transitions that women experience including migration/immigration, change in marital status, human sexuality and human rights status.

My film C'est Moi screen at this years festival. As a male who advocates for stories of women I felt included very honoured to have screened at this festival that showed films on a international level. Pamela Morgan, David Schoner and the team of WIM-N were very welcoming to me when I travelled from Canada to be in attendance at my screening and was happy to share my story with Donna Roman after my screening. The turn out grew throughout the evening of the screenings and I learnt a lot. Would highly recommend submitting.

Newark, NJ is the central location of this wonderfully supportive film festival, celebrating women in 3D. In addition to Newark--the largest city in New Jersey--there were several other NJ townships that hosted film, art exhibitions and music beautifully curated by executive director and founder Pamela Morgan. This festival is essential for Newark's evolving and exciting art scene. By featuring women (and honoring women in leadership with awards each day of the festival) fully realized characters seem to leap off the screen since it is such a rare occasion to have nine days projecting the variety of the female experience on screen. Our film, TITLE VII, was the closing night feature with an antihero as the lead character. The discussion from the engaged audience has been one of our most exciting yet. Kudos to the Women in Media-Newark team! And I look forward to returning as an audience member for years to come.

Fantastic festival that deals with strong and relevant issues within the female community. Was honoured that my short film was accepted into the festival in 2015.
