Welcome to 5th Woodpecker International Film Festival, 2017 - India's biggest film festival on issue-based cinema.
Woodpecker International Film Festival (WIFF) is India's premier competitive film festival focusing on issue-based cinema. Launched in the year 2013 the festival will be organising its 5th annual edition in September 2017.
WIFF aims to showcase the rich mélange of visual creativity worldwide and also to promote films, documentaries and advertisements focusing on socially pertinent themes like environment and wildlife, gender, Livelihoods, public health, disability and children through this film festival. A major attraction of the film festival would be off-screen activities. Seminars, conferences, workshops and master classes to help filmmakers and film enthusiasts explore contemporary issues, network with professional associates, hone their filmmaking skills and share the power of storytelling through cinema.

The festival is now accepting entries for the 2017 edition in the following categories:
Environment, Forest & Wildlife, Investigative Films, Water, Social Challenges (Child Right Issues, Human Trafficking, Violence, Road Safety), Livelihoods, Films on Disability, Gender, Children Films, Art & Culture, Water and Sanitation, Animation, Student Films, CSR Films, Films on North East, Public Health Issues, and Social Advertisements & PSAs.

a) Entrants can pay the fee via PayPal (PayPal Id: firstname.lastname@example.org).
b) Indian Entrants can also pay the fee as per the payment mode given in the Entry Form available on festival website.

Rules & Terms
a) Genres: Short Film, Documentary, Animation, Community Videos on any of the competition categories.
b) Duration: Films upto the length of 120 min only (including credits).
c) Cut off Year: Films produced between 2015 - 2017 are eligible for the festival.
d) Entries are invited in all languages. Non-English and Non-Hindi language productions must include English subtitles.
e) Entrant may submit more than 1 film in the festival. Each film must be accompanied by a separate Entry Form and Entry Fee.
f) Submission Deadline: Early Bird: February 28, 2017, Regular Entry: June 30, 2017.
