The Veer West Screenplay Festival encourages writers and artists to submit short screenplays to our festival. Having workshopped and produced scripts and new material in Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles, since 2004, our goal is to launch new work by exceptional screenwriters, writers, filmmakers, and artists.

Our finalists will have their scripts read aloud by professional talent in a recorded reading shared online.

All scripts of various concepts, genres, and stages of completion will be accepted for consideration.

Our screenplay readings have been produced since 2003 in Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles. From these readings, if and when physically, financially, and creatively possible, scripts are produced.

Our screenplays and stage plays submitted are evaluated based on a point based system focusing on character development, plot development, marketability, story structure, and dialogue. The goal is to bring more exposure to writers and their work and to have professional actors read.

All programs are different based on the submissions received. VWSF programs the highest quality written works.

It is acceptable to submit now and send a revised version later as long as it falls in the same number of pages as originally submitted to. We will take 1-2 edits as we want to read what the writer or artist is happiest with and the strongest example of his/her work.
