Located in Sylvania, Ohio, the Tree City Film Festival was started in 2013. Since then, it has been the festival's aim to support and encourage the art of filmmaking, educate and entertain our community, and to develop a committed and cultivated audience.

In 2015, the Tree City Film Festival screened nearly 6.5 hours of entertainment and premiered 31 original movies created by filmmakers participating in the 50-Hour Challenge and the Shorties U workshop. Nearly 500 audience members during a three-day event that took place in Sylvania's Historic Train Barn "Theater."

Beginning in 2016, the Tree City Film Festival will welcome films from across the country. By including a broad range of short independent films, the Tree City Film Festival hopes to continue it's mission of cerebrating the art of filmmaking. It promises to be an awesome experience for independent filmmakers, movie lovers, and young people alike.

RULES

1. Films can be no longer than fifteen minutes in length - including opening and closing credits.

2. Your film must have been completed after April, 23rd, 2013; no films older than three years will be accepted.

3. Films must be submitted digitally by way of a file transfer service (i.e. WeTransfer) or a video sharing platform (i.e. Vimeo) in one of the following formats:

• H.264 (.mov or .mp4)
• QuickTime (Apple ProRes 422)

4. A downloadable link to your film must be emailed to director@sylvaniaarts.org with the subject "Tree City Film Festival 2016 - Your Name or Production Name - Name of Your Film."

5. In addition to the downloadable link, the email must include the following:

• Your name or production name as it will appear in the program.
• The title of your film.
• A brief synopsis about your film.
• The genre of your film.
• The total run time of your film.
• Images or photos are welcome but not necessary.

TERMS

1. I acknowledge that The Tree City Film Festival, in partnership with the Sylvania Community Arts Commission, has the right to exhibit in whole or in part, royalty-free, throughout the world in perpetuity, in all media now known or hereafter devised, including the use of my name, image, likeness and voice for such purposes (i.e. promotional purposes). Neither the Tree City Film Festival nor its partners will transfer these rights to any third party.

2. All submissions must be original work. While third party material may be used, including, but not limited to, music and graphic elements, entries must provide legal written permission from the copyright owner.

3. Entries cannot contain material that would otherwise be considered offensive, obscene,
pornographic or defamatory to any person, organization or entity. Any submission that violates this rule may be disqualified.

4. The Tree City Film Festival reserves the right to refuse submissions for any reason; no refunds.

5. Rules and regulations are subject to change with notification in a timely manner.
