The third annual Film Festival at Little Washington will be held April 7-9, 2017 in the historic town of Washington, VA, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. All filmmakers, both professional and amateur, are welcome to submit in all categories including short and feature length films, documentaries, student films, web series or episodes, and music videos. Submission period runs through January 15, 2017.

This year, films that are screened at FFLW will be eligible for awards in one of the following three categories: Best Documentary, Best Short, and Audience Choice.

All work submitted must have been completed after January 1, 2012 and no works in progress will be accepted. Final program determinations and notifications will be made by February 15, 2017. Professional and amateur filmmakers working in all aesthetic disciplines and genres are welcome.

Fees - A $10 submission fee is required. The fee for student filmmakers will be waived however, documentation will be required to prove that the filmmaker is currently enrolled in an academic program, either full or part-time. Submission Deadline - All film submissions must be submitted via FilmFreeway.

Vimeo Links – If using a Vimeo link, the necessary password(s) is required. You MUST keep us updated with passwords or your film may be rejected. Notify us of any password change at FFLW2017@gmail.com.

Multiple Entries - Multiple entries are accepted.

Types of Films - We will accept films of all lengths and genres, in all categories including short and feature length films, documentaries, student films, web series or episodes, and music videos. The entry fee for student filmmaker will be waived.

Completion Date - Films must have been completed after January 1, 2012.

Travel Assistance - Virginia filmmakers whose films have been accepted for screening may be eligible for travel and/or housing assistance.

Attendance - If a film is accepted, at least one (1) filmmaker must attend the film’s screening for participation in an audience Q&A session.

Language - Foreign language films must be made available with the original language soundtrack and English subtitles.
