The Edinburgh Indie Film Festival is an international annual event, in 2018 will be hosted in the heart of Edinburgh and Scotland.

As an international event, we welcome submissions from all corners of the world and films produced in Scotland are eligible to apply to our Scottish category for free!

We are proud to announce that we are preparing an exciting package for filmmakers invited for screening. Films invited for screening are automatically invited to attend our Awards Ceremony where Award Winners will be announced followed by an afterparty.

If you are a student, you can submit your film in the student category at a discounted price. Please send us a copy of your student ID so we can confirm your student status.

Awards & Prizes

Winners will receive Trophies and Award Certificates. Films that have their premiere with us will also receive certificates.

The Official Selection will be announced on the 20th October 2018. Those invited for screening will be contacted individually prior to the event.

The Screenings and Award Ceremony will be held after the 17th December 2018 in Edinburgh.

Please read our rules and terms before you make a submission!

We accept submissions of all genres and all lengths, but please make sure they are submitted in the correct category.

All foreign films must have English subtitles.

We do not give any free waivers.

We do not give any refunds.

If you wish to be eligible for multiple awards you have to submit to several categories.

All films made and produced during 2013 and later will be accepted.

During unexpected circumstances, we can at our discretion change venues and date of event.

We are not responsible for any copyright infringement of your material and you give us the permission to publish your images, poster and trailer on our website and/or social media pages.
