Root Film Festival, "Zero" Edition, marks the first international film festival event at Root Art Space.

Root Film Festival (RFF) will be a platform for strong stories and independent voices to come together. In our day, the borders between cinema, video art and multimedia installations are uncertain. RFF aims to be a meeting place for films evolved around a strong narrative.

RFF will be hosted at Root Art Space, a dynamic arts multispace based in the centre of Athens, Greece. Root Art Space functions around producing and showcasing work that has an effect and brings something new to the audience. The establishment also includes the Root Art Space Society - a platform dedicated to all the artists who have worked with the space, with the aim of bringing creatives closer and inspiring and supporting collaborations.

The festival will have a competition element. The judging committee is made up of experienced and established international creatives (a full list will soon be announced).

The creators will have the opportunity to discuss their work in Q & A sessions with the public and receive extensive feedback from the industry professionals attending.

The winning creative will win a full expenses paid trip to an International Festival event in 2015. Festival location will be decided depending on the creator's residence location.
