*Accepting submissions from January 1st, 2018- October 15th, 2018.
*Film should have a minimum length of 4 minutes; not to exceed 20 minutes.
*Film can be any genre.
*Film must have been made while attending a film school or film program.
*Initial submissions may be linked to YouTube, Vimeo, or other web video hosting sites through submission page.
*Must be 18 years of age and a legal resident of the USA.

## WIN A SCREENING IN SAN FRANCISCO AND OFFICIAL BRAGGING RIGHTS ##

*The top six to eight films (decided by team of industry professionals) will be screened at a theater in San Francisco during a one day event.
*If film is selected to screen at the Pictoclik showcase: Battle of the Film Schools, the filmmaker that submitted the film will receive two complimentary tickets to the screening.

PICTOCLIK SHOWCASE CONTESTS ARE OPEN TO ANY U.S. LEGAL RESIDENTS, 18 YEARS AND OLDER
1. How to Enter the Contest
Beginning at 12:00 pm Pacific Time (“PT”) on January 1, 2018 through October 15th, 2018 11:59 PT for Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools (the “Contest Entry Period”), go to www.Pictoclik.com, click in the festival section “Submit “ and then click “submit your film” fill in requested info complete with links to submit a video or send in a hard copy to Pictoclik, 77 Van Ness Ave #101-1913 San Francisco, CA 94102. Video must be of a short film (not to exceed twenty (20) minutes in length) that includes an ORIGINAL storyline. Videos can be any genre. Filmmaker submitting must have all permissions, licenses and own the film wholly before submitting to Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools contest to be considered for the screening or showcased in the festival. Videos will be accepted in any of the following formats: files on DVDs that include: 3G2, 3GP, AVI, F4V, FLV, M4V, MOV, MP4, MPG, PEG, QT, WMV, 1080p, 720p, Bluray and must not exceed twenty minutes in length. Music can only be used in the video if it is an original composition created by the entrant or if entrant independently secures rights to included music. If any individuals appear in the video, Entrant must have the permission of the individuals (or their parent’s or legal guardian’s permission if individuals are minors) to use the audio and visuals of everyone who is featured in the video in any and all media without compensation. Proof of such permission may be required at Company’s discretion. Submission of any Entry/video further constitutes the Entrant’s consent to grant the Company certain rights in and to the Entry/video, as described in Rule 6, below. Each Entry submitted must meet all entry requirements. No refunds given anytime for Entry submissions. Pictoclik reserves the right to refuse service and entry to anyone at anytime. Entries in our contest are void where prohibited by law. In submitting your work to the Pictoclik Showcase:Battle of the Film Schools contest you are admitting that your entry is your original work, and does not infringe on the copyright or other rights of other people. There is a limit of up to ten (10) video submissions per email address/person; however, all entries must be different from any entries previously submitted by Entrant. Entry must be made in Entrant’s name only, regardless of whether others contributed to or appear in the Entry/video. Submitters agree by submitting to allow the Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools to screen any submitted entry up to (5) times in public, ticketed, for-profit screenings. Films submitted in the Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema contest must not have major theatrical distribution deals in the United States of America that would conflict with your agreement allowing Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools to screen any submitted film. Entry fees must be paid in U.S. dollars before films will be viewed. Please note screening dates are subject to change. All screening times and venues are subject to delay or change. Entries that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. Pictoclik or any affiliates are not responsible for films stolen, missing, or lost in transit. Entries that are found to be copies of other entries previously submitted in the Contest or to contain content plagiarized from other websites and/or publications will be void and will result in disqualification and no refund. By submitting to Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools contest, all listed creators authorize the submission. Any filmmaker or member of the film entourage causing a disruption or acting aggressively, disrespectfully or threateningly to any of the volunteer staff or employees of the showcases may have their film pulled from exhibition at any time without refund. Pictoclik and affiliates does not provide room, board or travel for filmmakers. Film submissions are non-returnable. Posters and press materials are non-returnable. All fees are non-refundable. Pictoclik cannot return original materials submitted for review and/or exhibition. Please do not send original materials.
Entry Guidelines:
Entry cannot: (a) include inhumane treatment of animals, or any other offensive manner as deemed by the selection panel; (b) be obscene or offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group; (c) contain or reference trademarks, logos or trade dress owned by others, or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, without permission, or contain any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses; (d) contain copyrighted or licensed materials owned by others without permission including branded product placement, branded logos, use of branded content in dialogue, celebrity name and likeness and licensed music content (unless filmmaker independently secures rights to included content). Filmmakers must provide documentation for usage right, etc. as applicable.; and (e) contain materials embodying the names, likenesses, photographs, or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead, without permission. By submitting an Entry you warrant and represent that: (a) it does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity; (b) the other participants depicted in the Entry, if any, have given written consent to its submission into the contest and use as contemplated by these Official Rules; and (c) publication of the Entry via various media including Web posting and posting in social media, will not infringe on the rights of any third party. Entrant will indemnify and hold harmless Company from any claims to the contrary. Any Entry that, in the sole opinion of Company, is deemed to be inappropriate for publication or inclusion in the contest for any reason will be disqualified from the contest with no refund(s) at any time.
2. Judging/Contest Winner Determination
All films submitted to the festival are watched in their entirety and scored by between 3 to 10 screeners and programmers (who are Industry professionals, Pictoclik board members, affiliates and most poss a history of filmmaking, filmmaking journalism and/or employment in the Film/ Television entertainment and/or journalism). The films that have the highest score or those specifically championed by a programmer or screener move on to the final deliberation and democratic vote by the Pictoclik Showcase curator. All submitted film hard copies are held and screened in one central location. All online submissions will be screened in up to 10 private locations. Screener copies are not passed out to the judges, screeners or programmers for your films safety.
All eligible entries will be scored on the following criteria for acceptance to the Pictoclik Film Festival and screening: Originality (25%), Storyline and Content (25%), Acting (25%) and Quality (25%). Prize award is subject to verification of eligibility. All judges, screener, programmers and board member decisions are final.
3. Eligibility
Open to legal residents in the United States of America, who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry, except employees, officers, directors and agents of Pictoclik (“Company”). Void where prohibited. Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
4. Prizes and Approximate Retail Values (“ARV”) and Odds of Winning Contest
SUBMISSION WINNERS of the Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools will receive official bragging rights and two complimentary tickets to the screenings of the filmmaker films. ARV: $ 50. Odds of winning 1 in a 500. Odds of winning subject to change if submissions exceed current predictions. Company reserves the right to change dates and prizes at any time.
5. Winner Notification
Film submissions that are selected for the Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools contest will notify Entrant by e-mail/mail and/or telephone and will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and a Publicity Release within five (5) days of attempted delivery. Film submissions that are selected for the Pictoclik Screening will notify Entrant by e-mail/mail and/or telephone and will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and a Publicity Release within five (5) days of attempted delivery.Company’s inability to contact an Entrant or Winner in a reasonable time period, or non-compliance with these Official Rules may result in forfeiture of entry.
6. General Rules
No refunds on submission costs. By participating, participants accept and agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Company and Judges, which shall be final and binding in all matters. By participating, participants agree to release and hold Promotion Parties harmless against any and all claims and liability arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of participation in the promotion or use or redemption of a prize. By playing/submitting an entry, entrant agrees to have his/her name and entry (including video) used for advertising and marketing and other purposes in any and all media now and hereafter devised, worldwide in perpetuity, without further compensation, notification, permission unless prohibited by law. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to the Company and its designees’ to use winners’ names, likenesses, submitted entry (including video) (and biographical information) for advertising and marketing and other purposes in any and all media now and hereafter devised, worldwide in perpetuity, without further compensation, notification, permission unless prohibited by law. Promotion Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, garbled, stolen, inaccurate, damaged, undelivered or delayed entries, game plays, prize claims or emails; or for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network, cable, satellite, Internet Service Provider (ISP) connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this promotion, or for any errors, problems or malfunctions of any kind whether caused by computer, network, technical, mechanical, printing, typographical, seeding or by any human error or otherwise which may occur in the programming of this promotion, including, without limitation, errors, problems or malfunctions which may occur in connection with the administration of the promotion, the processing of entries and game plays or prize claims, the announcement of the prizes or in any promotion-related materials. Promotion Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the promotion. Promotion Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to participants’ or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this promotion or downloading materials from or use of the web site. If due to a computer programming, seeding, network or other error, more prizes of any prize level are claimed than intended to be awarded according to these Official Rules. In no event will Company or Promotion Parties be liable for more than the stated number of prizes in these Official Rules. If, in the Judges’ opinion, there is any suspected evidence of tampering with any portion of the promotion, or if virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, technical difficulties or other causes compromise the integrity, administration or conduct of the promotion, the Judges reserve the right to modify or terminate the promotion in a manner deemed reasonable by the Judges, at the Judges’ sole discretion. In the event a dispute arises as to the identity of a potentially winning online participant, entries made by internet will be declared made by the name on the online registration form. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROMOTION IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR WILL DISQUALIFY ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
7. Conditions and Limits of Liability
As a condition of participating in this promotion, each participant agrees: (1) under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages, and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses as set forth in subsection 3 below, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased; (2) this promotion is governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflicts of law principles and any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this promotion, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively before a Court of competent jurisdiction located within the State of California; (3) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred in participating in this promotion and in no event will participant be entitled to receive attorneys’ fees, or any other costs; and (4) participant shall be bound by these Official Rules.

By entering (submitting to) Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools, you are admitting that you have read, understood and agreed to follow our Rules and Regulations for festival and screening submissions and abide by our Terms and Conditions of service and our general Rules and Regulations. By entering (submitting to) Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools contest, entrants release and hold Pictoclik, it’s Board Members, Officers, Staff and Volunteers harmless from and against all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation with the contest or participation in any competition related activity. By entering (submitting to) any Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools, you are granting Pictoclik the right to use screen grabs, press materials, and stills from your movie on our advertisements, press materials, festival programs and website for unlimited use now and hereafter devised, worldwide in perpetuity, without further compensation, notification, permission unless prohibited by law. If you do not wish Pictoclik to use your screen grabs, press materials or stills from your film in our advertisements, press materials or programs, you need to request in writing (please send to our email pictoclikfestival@gmail.com with a header NO PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL) that you do not want your materials used for such purposes. By entering (submitting to) any Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools, you are admitting that you are 18 years of age or older. By entering (submitting to) any Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools, you are granting the right for Pictoclik to screen your film publicly up to 5 times in the next 18 months. By entering (submitting to) any Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools, you acknowledge that you are not entitled to any refund or damage claims of any any kind if your film is unable to screen due to technical or operational difficulties or if your film needs to be reschedule, or delayed for any reason. By entering (submitting to) any Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools, you acknowledge that you are not entitled to any refund or damage claims if your submission is not selected for Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools, with or without reason. Pictoclik is not responsible for broken or non-functioning films. All federal, state and local laws and regulation apply. You agree to receive service of process through certified mail or by other means sanctioned by law, and you expressly waive any claim of improper venue and any claim that such courts are an inconvenient forum. Entrants warrant that they have the legal right to enter film work to Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools. As Director/Producer/Submitter, entrants have submitted to the Pictoclik Film Festival, Pictoclik Showcase: Women in Cinema or Pictoclik Showcase: Battle of the Film Schools entrants represent and warrant to Pictoclik that the Submission and all parts thereof are original; that the Submission does not contravene the rights of any person or entity and that entrants own or control the Submission and all parts thereof and have the sole authority to submit the Submission to Pictoclik; and the Submission entrants submitted to Pictoclik Film Festival is not subject to, nor threatened by, any litigation. Entrants acknowledge that no fiduciary or confidential relationship now exists between the Festival and entrants, and entrants further acknowledge that no such relationship is established by these guidelines, the Submission, or by the Pictoclik acceptance, review or retention of the Submission.

    Unfortunetly that we couldn't be there at the last moment, but the kind and friendly way that this festival treated us, it made us feel so appreciated and happy that this festival has selected us !!!!! Lastly, thank you so much for sending us the medal, we love it !!! And hopefully, can meet you guys when I back to SF : )
